theoldgit Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 For the avoidance of doubt VFS doesn't issue the visa, as the story implies. Decisions are still made by the visa section of the appropriate country's visa section, VFS are in effect a service to receive the application and pass onto the the visa section, and to subsequently to return the passport to the applicant when the decision has been made. VFS cannot, or at least should not, offer advice. theoldgit
bkk_mike Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I hope they do a good job of explaining the rules. i.e. The British VFS office ended up refunding us for the cost of TB tests that they told my wife she needed to get when it wasn't actually a requirement for her visa.

For a UK visa at Rajadamri House, one of the staff rejected my wife's application & tried to coax her into seeing a Visa agent - she had his card in her handbag!

You really should report that to the UKBA. theoldgit
7by7 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Indeed; if any VFS staff member tries to do this then they are breaking their terms of employment with VFS and the terms of the contract between VFS and the embassy concerned. So you really should report the person concerned to both VFS and the embassy.
