Dreamliner crisis: Boeing halts 787 jet deliveries

Boeing has suspended deliveries of its new 787 Dreamliner aircraft until a battery problem is resolved.

An email from the US aerospace giant said it would continue to build the plane, but not deliver any until US safety officials gave their backing.

Aircraft engineering, electronics, etc., is today very advanced.

Seems strange to me that the design of this equipment was not much better.

Looks like there are more than just battery problems - fuel problems, cockpit window cracking, computer glitches... was there a bit of a rush to get it finished by a certain date and a few issues have been overlooked, or is it just coincidence?

It was three years late anyway, so if that's what they call rushing.....

This will be a costly bit of engineering to fix . But good for them to suspend other flights before there is a serious accident . And fix the engineering problems .

Er, did they have a choice? With them grounded, they can't deliver them anyway, unless they want to send them by sea!

Who can you trust these days? Cheap is always costly in the long run. I'm glad we have authorities to police industry.

A Thai company is buying some?
