The Cheapest Way To Get To Philippines

Featured Replies

I want to move to Philippines for a few months. It's a given that I'll have to have not only ticket to Philippines but the one from Philippines as well. So my route is going to be the following: Bangkok -> Philippines (Manila or ... I don't know exactly) -> other Asian country (it can be Thailand, Bangkok too).

I was going to buy the ticket from AirAsia but then I hesitated since there were quite expensive ones to Philippines. The goal is the cheapest price. I guess it's not so far-fetched to buy 2 tickets (Thai-Philippines-another country) for about $100, isn't it? Of course, most probably I won't use the return ticket and I'll have to throw it away.

So can you guys give advice to me about which low-cost company (it should be a low-cost company for sure) should I choose and where (what country, city) should I buy the return ticket to?

Google

the cheapest to go from Bkk to MNL is with Cebu Pacific, it is good to book well advanced as it closer it gets, as expensiver it gets. Going out of the Philippines can be the cheapest flight from MNL or Clark out of the country for example to Kuala Lumpur or so also with Cebu Pacific, that one you can throw away afterwards,

Although this related to migrating to another country, doesn't seem to be related to the Visas issue. Moving to the Thailand Travel forum.

Check out Tiger Air

Cebu Pacific - times are not too good and you will end up in Clark which is a 'fun' place but couple of hours from Manila

I always wait for a sale and cheapest have got is THB 2,553.04 return BKK-CLARK-BKK

yes the times are a bit during the night but of course you can go to Manila and not Clark.

A word of caution on the Cebu Pacific flights - read the airline reviews, They are not attractive.

How about a Pedalo?

The cheapest way to Philippines is by cargo ship but takes about 3-4 days :)

Tiger Airways to Angeles (Cark) is the cheapest from there you can get bus or car(taxi 2400 peso) to Manila or you can fly from Clark to wherever you want to be in PI ie Cebu City (second city to Manila). If you join Tiger airways emailing list they will let you know of promo's internal flights are cheap in PI Cebu Pacific are the best IMO so you can cheaply travel about to see where you want to live thats what i did i lived there for 12 months before moving to pattaya with my PI GF (yes another one)Good luck its a great place lots to see and do (7100 islands to explore) if you need hotels while your there Air Asia own Tune hotels theres one in Angeles ,Cebu and Two in Manila good value about 1000 peso a night if you need more info PM me good luck

Wow. Did you come up with that response all by yourself?

I did. One of them was http://www.thaivisa.com/forum

No, seriously, I have found that it can be cheaper to look at 2 separate flights (there and back) than to accept their return price (CebuAir especially).

Philippine airline has also set on eu blacklist for low security stanards and old planes!

How might one go about the freighter ship option...by sea??

Try researching yourself on this great thing called google.

Google don't sell flight tickets.

Really?? But you can find many websites where you can book and pay for flights all over the world. I very seldom buy air tickets anywhere else.

Asia in general is readily accessible. Mostly, it is China. (Got to get them widgets to import to Every-Place-Else, you know...) Was hoping for Thailand-specific company, for example. Thanks for posting.

I'm interested in that. Is it even cheaper than $100? Should I have the return ticket? Where do I read about that?

Depends on the time of year I have found Air Asia - Manila to Clark good prices.

As for your throw-away ticket. Air Asia Clark to Kota Kinabalu ? (Indonesia)

is usually cheap. Also a full fare fully refundable ticket is a possibility. Land

cancel the fully refundable departure ticket. Then organize your proper visa's.
