My tourist visa expires on the 10th February but i really need to be here until the 12th.

I could go to immigration and get an extension but that costs 1,900 bht i believe and requires a lengthy trip there.

Alternatively, i could 'overstay' 2 days. I don't like doing it but my decision on wether i will or not depends on the consequences if i did.

Is it simply a matter of paying a fine or are there other after effects? Can it effect any future visa applications in anyway if i were to overstay?

How much is the fine per day for overstaying?

Any info and comments welcome.

The fine is 500 baht per day and yes you could end up in jail for overstay if found prior to exit. At this time overstay is not a factor for return if fine is paid on exit.

I'm sorry, i don't understand what you are trying to say there.

With an overstay you can still return to Thailand as normal.

What Lopburi is saying is...

The fine for overstay is 500 Baht a day. Should you be stopped before getting to the airport for your departure and found to be on overstay you will be arrested & will be detained in custody. Once at the airport and your fine paid it should not (current policy) prevent further trips to Thailand.
