Hardly any country on this planet, that has not it's share of "Myth's. Thailand is burdened with the Myth of "Thai women are beautiful".

Here in the sticks for some strange reasons, this seems not to apply. Around here, just like in Europe, every third or fourth woman I see is just as overweight as in Europe (this was NOT the case some 15 years ago). Even as far as facial appearance is concerned, not above standards as far as the rest of the world is concerned.

And, on a rare occasion, that a "pretty" Thai-Lady crosses your way, maybe arond 25 years of age, she is probably towing a couple of children behind her that may range between 2 to 3 years of age. This of course will increase the libido of an average farang tremendeously. As I said, this applies to my neck of the woods. This does not mean, that no fun can be had. But this only against prior commitement beforehand, of course. (Involving a "Mia-Noi Situation" at the least).

But I think I have seen the light: With every kilometer that I get closer to a Tourist-Hub, the prettier the girls get. I have been dwelling on this phenomenon for endless times until I finally found enlightement (no, there were no monks present).

- It's in those places that beauty can be turned into true financial advantages, and not in the sticks, where the father of her 2 children has disappeared months ago and has left a 100 Bht note on the kitchen table as a farewell present.

So, I suppose the Myth of "Thai Woman are beautiful" stays in effect, just as long as you don't wonder off too far from them Tourist-Hubs.

There was never a shortage of beautiful Thai women where I used to live.

Here in Pattaya I do not see a lot of difference. There are beautiful ones and not so beautiful ones. Some slim some fat - IMHO of course.

Beautiful women do not need to work in the entertainment sector taking care of sexpats. Beautiful people always have first crack at the good jobs, and have an easier time of it in school. This is how life works.

Of course, there are some very beautiful women in LoS, but they are few and very far between.

When I took my daughter to Seoul for a trip she was quite disappointed to find out that not all Korean lads look like members of 2PM and Big Bang. Although I had forewarned her that as a westerner I myself do not resemble that bloke from the "Twilight" movies or the lead singer of Maroon 5.

You will find the most beautiful women always migrate to the major metropolitan areas. In every country. That's where the money is. Either in jobs, or eligible men.

I agree with you about the beautiful Thai women I have 3 places in Thailand all in Thai areas not tourist areas and there are some very beautiful girls its just they aren't selling like the ones in tourist areas,

And most the girls in tourist areas come from rural Thailand

I would have to agree with you. I just came back from 5 days in the countryside of Thailand. I saw lots of happy children, but not many young, attractive women. There were gangs of young men and many old ladies and old men, but a noticeable absence of younger women. Of course, if you really examine the western societies and look closely, there are not a lot of beautiful women anywhere. There are just us average looking gals. In the "farang" populated city of Chiang Mai I see more lovely looking back packer women than I do attractive Thai women.
