my wife came to the uk from thailand on dec 15th 2011.

I know the financial requirements will stay the same but what im unsure of is whether her entry level certificate in skills for life (entry 3) will be ok.

I have read somewhere that entry 3 is the same as b1, so will her city & guilds certificate be accepted?

Ive also heard that the lituk test will change on 26th mar 2013 and if u take the exam after this date u will have to show b1 level so again will the certificate be adequate?

thanks for any help

Unfortunately, the government have yet to publish the list of approved providers for the B1 speaking and listening test; though I imagine they will be the same as those for the A1 test, and City & Guilds are on that list. So if she has obtained the required minimum grade (see the list for the C&G equivalent of B1) then that will probably be fine.

However, this will only satisfy half of the new requirement effective from October 2013. She will also have to pass the Life in the UK test.

The reply was we don't have any information on this look nearer the time . I find it very poor
