Arriving One Day Early With Tourist Visa - Problem?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I got issues a 3-month single entry tourist Visa, but now unfortunately my travel plans have changed, so that I will arrive in Thailand one day before the date stated on my visa.

Is this a problem? Will they just stamp me in?

Anyone experienced this before?

All advice is welcome....

Thank you in advance!

Tourist (and other) visas are usually valid from the date of issue so it's not possible to arrive before the visa is valid.

What does your say as 'date of issue' and 'enter before'? Did you request and receive a delayed start date?

Maybe post a scan of the visa with any identifying information removed so the experts can comment.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

As said, the Visa is valid from the date of issue.

What you wrote down on your visa application does not matter - you can use to make your allowed entry from issue until expiration of that visa.

OP, you'll be okay if arriving before the 'enter before' date on the visa. You'll still get 60 days and will be able to extend it for another 30 days at an immigration office.

Thank you for the feedback!

I should have rephrased my question "Does it matter what day I put down as the date of entry in my visa application" - Apparently it doesn't and any entry after the date of issue is fine.

Great, this website is really second to none for Thai Visa questions!!

cheers
