Crime Man Critically Injured in Sickle Attack After Allegedly Making Lewd Remarks
Picture courtesy of Workpoint. A 61-year-old man has been left critically injured after being attacked with a sickle in a violent confrontation sparked by an alleged crude remark about a woman. The incident occurred in Soi Krungthep-Nonthaburi 3, Bang Khen Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province. Emergency services were called to the scene to find Mr Somchak, known locally as “Piek”, lying unconscious in a pool of blood outside a derelict house where he resided alone. He had suffered multiple severe lacerations to his head, right arm, knee and Achilles tendon. Medics provided urgent treatment before transporting him to hospital in a critical condition. The alleged attacker, Mr Naruchart, 20, known as Kim, reportedly fled the scene on a motorcycle with his girlfriend, Ms Rungnapa, shortly after the assault. Initial investigations suggest the altercation was triggered after the victim hurled a piece of wood at Mr Naruchart and proceeded to shout profanities, allegedly threatening to rape his girlfriend. Mr Naruchart, said to have been enraged by the threat, retaliated by striking the older man with a sickle. Witnesses described Mr Somchak as a habitual drinker who, when intoxicated, often made inappropriate or provocative remarks, particularly towards women. Mr Pook 65, a neighbour, stated: “When he’s sober, he’s alright. But when he drinks, he becomes rude and aggressive.” Mr Khunmee 59, the uncle of the alleged attacker, claimed that Mr Somchak had a history of violent incidents, including slashing his neck with a box cutter in a previous altercation. “He even went to prison for that. This time, he kept threatening and mocking my nephew’s girlfriend, it went too far,” he said. A former associate of Mr Somchak added that he had experienced similar behaviour in the past. “He once got drunk at my house, started flirting with my girlfriend and even tried to touch her. She ended up kicking him. He had no boundaries when drunk.” Police are now reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses in the area as part of an ongoing investigation. Officers confirmed that they are working to locate and arrest the suspect, who remains at large. Adapted by Asean Now from Workpoint 2025-07-14 -

The Epstein List
I'll have to dig for that. A journalist named Whitney Webb did a long, in depth expose years ago, and I mean long, like the Maxwell family history long. I haven't given the topic much thought since Epstein was incarcerated. None of the young ladies said that Trump participated and one stated explicitly that he did not. My suspicion is that Trump is protecting other people, probably due to coercion, self interest and wanting to protect some people who didn't lay a hand on anyone. Bill Gates' marriage came to a crashing halt after his close relationship with Epstein was exposed. Imagine how many others are out there. -

Transport Double-Decker Buses Allowed on Six Risk-Prone Routes from 21 July
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. The government has announced a temporary easing of restrictions on double-decker buses, allowing them to operate on six previously high-risk routes for a 180-day trial period starting 21 July 2025. However, Route 304, a notoriously dangerous road, remains off-limits due to ongoing safety concerns. Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, stated that the Department of Land Transport (DLT), under the Ministry of Transport, is permitting limited operations of double-decker buses under strict safety conditions. The move is part of a broader effort to balance public transportation needs with rigorous safety standards. The six approved routes are: 1. Highway 4 — Khao Pub Pha to Phatthalung 2. Highway 103 — Mae Yang Ho to Mae Teeb 3. Highway 118 — Chiang Mai to Doi Nang Kaew 4. Highway 2013 — Bo Pho to Khok Ngam 5. Highway 2331 — Cho Hoa to Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park 6. Highway 1256 — Pua to Doi Phu Kha National Park Operators wishing to run double-decker buses on these routes must comply with the following strict requirements: 1. Vehicle Inspection: Buses must undergo a full inspection by the DLT or a provincial transport office, with emphasis on brake systems (particularly air brakes). 2. Driver Training: All drivers must complete a two-hour e-learning course titled “Operating Large Vehicles on Steep Routes”. 3. Speed Compliance: Drivers must adhere strictly to posted speed limits throughout their journey. The DLT will closely monitor the trial phase and assess its effectiveness in real time. Additionally, a two-way communication GPS tracking system is being developed to improve monitoring and vehicle control capabilities. Despite the relaxation on these six routes, the ban on Highway 304, the route between Kabin Buri Junction and Wang Nam Khiao, remains firmly in place. The road is widely recognised for its steep gradients, sharp curves and a long history of fatal crashes, particularly involving large vehicles. “The safety of the public is our utmost priority,” Ms. Sasikarn said. “All relaxations are under tight control and will be regularly reviewed based on real-world data to ensure public safety is never compromised.” Related article: https://aseannow.com/topic/1363983-double-decker-bus-operators-again-protest-ban-on-seven-high-risk-routes/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1362946-ministry-of-transport-backs-down-over-double-decker-bus-ban-on-khao-phap-pha-route/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1362718-bus-operators-protest-ministry’s-ban-on-double-decker-coaches-along-‘risky’-routes/ Adapted by Asean Now from Khoasod 2025-07-14 -
