Changing Laotian Kip In Bkk. Where?

Featured Replies

Hi, I didn't have enough time to change money crossing the border the other day and have arrived in bangkok with around 1000 baht in laotian kip. I went into a few banks on the ede of the city but they refused to handle it. Where can i exchange it?

Go to the On Nut Lotus

Under this sign, ( http://goo.gl/maps/WM2DZ ) you find almost every sunday at 7pm the visa runners to Vientiane.

They are maybe the only people, taking your Kip in Bkk

You can't basically. Just keep it for your next trip.

That's what I was thinking

You can't. The same thing happened to me when I went travelling there a few years ago. I never realised I couldn't change it back!

I ended up advertising around Khao San Road and asking people if they were going to Laos and if they wanted to exchange money etc.

Some hippy tourists agreed and it was a done deal! :D
