Avg Antivirus Installation Problem!

hello ..Linux guru..

first, i downloaded AVG (linux) from avg site, and then install. While running installing avg, it asked me to insert "Red Hat Enterprise Linux Disc - 3". so i inserted and click ok, but it occured "installation failure". so i tried again to install avg.

at that time. it said " already installed" . what can i do? :o

Uh ? Why do you want to install an antivirus for Linux ? Apart if it's used as a file or mail server. As about Antispy, I've never heard about this on GNU/Linux.

Sound Great!! I really don't know. :o now i'm downloading Fedora 4 to transform from Red Hat Enterprise Linux. It also doesn't need to install any antivirus. right? anyway.. thank you. i'm new babe of linux.

No Linux Distribution needs Antivirus Software (regardless of it being Red Hat , Fedora, Suse, Debian....

Most of the Viruses are simply made for Windows . Don't waste the Computers speed for an Antivirus on Linux - it really isn't necessary.

I think you're right to switch to Fedora, as it is far more workstation oriented and the hardware recoignition will be far better. Though I never used it, but have asked people on the Redhat Entreprise IRC channel.

it is the second time that I hear about antivirus :D

what for? rootkit? don't login as root! simple :D

Linux virus, yes there are three or four of them who need admin rights :o

any Linux user will never be dum enough to login as root and go on surfin' :D

ok ok ! now.. there are no antivirus software in my Fedora anymore.
