chuang Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Booked a flight from DMK/CNX on sunday 17 Feb...arrived at Don Muang at 0630LT for my 0855lt departure..did an self kiosk-check-in...the Q was long and in disorder..anger and scuffles appeared no staff on hand to help...it took me about 80 mins to have my bags dropped.... only two check-in counters were opened....what's the point of using the self-service check-in facilities and have to Q for this *&^%$ long.. Why can't AA designate special "Drop Bags" counters for pax using this facility only, instead of Q-ing with all other pax...really shit... 2
davejones Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 But this is a cheap airline. You get what you pay for. If you want better service, then you should pay more for a better airline. You can't expect top service for a cheapo price. You have a choice. You chose cheapo ticket, so you got cheapo service. Perfectly normal.

I have stood in long lines and gotten crap service from many "name brand" airlines over the years. I have most often gotten excellent service and short lines from Air Asia. I have also gotten crap service and stood in line at Air Asia. All airlines screw up from time to time with staffing problems, comptuer problems, and other issues. Buying an expensive ticket may improve your odds slightly but it certainly doesn't guarantee that you wont' be standing in some long lines from time to time.(unless maybe if you are flying first or biz class). I Just flew Air Asia DMK/HKG and SIN/DMK a month ago.......never stood in line for more than one minute to check in with bags either direction.

cnx355 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Glad that I am not alone to complain in DMK for Air Asia check-in.my flight was on Monday 18 FEB. I had my printed boarding pass and I went directly to the DROP BAD COUNTER. The agent told me to go back to the normal queue in a not so nice way . How could I guess that they had no DROP BAG queue.... There is only one queue for normal check-in ( no web-check-in) and passenger that already have their boarding pass ( web-check-in) and want to drop bag. ** I must say that one other queue for NO CHECKED LUGGAGE was open with the sign on a piece of paper and marker pen. I complained to the Manager and she told me that there are so many people that print their boarding pass before check-in that they have only one queue in DMK. She even told me that she does it since they moved from BKK. I guess it is a local practice. So....in Bangkok on Air Asia ,save ink and paper and just do the normal check-in as they have cancelled the DROP-BAG Queue. ( the sign are still there.....to frustrate the passengers. )

Yes it is a budget airline...can you advise me what is a cheap price....i do not expect red carpet treatment but reasonable service even if the price is 1 baht...I have travelled on domestic Nok Air and Orient Thai both budget airlines, did not haved to Q for 80 mins, this is my point... Likewise if you pay 10 baht for a plate of 'pah thai'..I am sure you don't expect to wash the plate after eating...
LongTimeLurker Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 "Why can't AA designate special "Drop Bags" counters for pax using this facility only, instead of Q-ing with all other pax" They do on the international flights I've been on both from BKK and DMK
