That is a very good photo - shows very clearly what happens when trees are allowed to grow epicormic growth as branches . At a guess that tree was damaged when young and that branch to the right will be similar. It also appears there was a branch removed where the rot is and there branch junction has included bark. Not a good tree at all

Hope that tree is not on your property.

Well it was not there 25 years ago when i last looked !

Here's looking up.... it a very secret beach, not many people would know on Samui...

I am sure one day there will be a resort built there, ending access... Obviously some one paid out a lot of money for the steps!

This tree down on that beach, has an interesting top...
