Yes, Udon is an enigma. They cops and city authorities are pretty strict on the licensing and working hours of bars that cater for foreigners which discourages the idea of Isaan Soi Cowboy and the customers that come with it. However, there's a huge industry in young Lao girls working out of commercial shop houses (picture neighborhood mom and pop store with 'facilities') catering for the locals that appear to operate with impunity. There was a fairly public 'clean up' several years ago where the main street they operated from was targeted but they simply moved a few streets over.

Why didnt they also arrest the swedish guy "Jorgen" ? how comes he was allowed to leave?

A number of things don't make sense in the report but that is typical as these new stories are not really news reports but simply police statements they release to the press and God forbid a reporter should ever ask for clarification. Worse if you read the OP only then it appears the Swede helped authorities but reading on it certainly doesn't appear to be the case which leads to more questions such as how anybody stumbled onto this case.

I am guessing that there was another party at the conversation that originally took place at Soi Cowboy. Possibly part of the group mentioned in the news story and that they went to the police and then the police got arrest warrants but by that time the Swede was gone.

I am also curious why the Cambodia women was arrested at Soi Cowboy. Did they lure her back there for another meeting or was she actually trying to sell the child there and maybe had the poor girl selling flowers as a front. Curious if the Cambodian was arrested alone at Soi Cowboy too or was the little girl with her. If not then maybe there is another party who also watched over the girl while the Cambodian was out doing her deals that initially reported this to authorities.

One thing I am fairly certain of is they know the full identity of the Swede and he can be found but just not sure how the laws work in Sweden if he is already back there.

Why? A lot of people depend on it for their livelihood, and not just bargirls, never having frequented these places, I still think people should be allowed to work in any employment as long as no one is harmed or made to do anything against their wishes.

I hope you are right. I am not tracking the posters who are saying what but there is one poster who appears to have had a number of posts deleted because of his clear advocating of children being raped for money and I assumed this was the same poster based on the language and tone.
