American farang with Thai husband, living here for nearly 17 years.

Farang married to farang. We have been living here for 6 years and have 4 kids. I am a teacher at an int'l school and my children all go to that school.

I am Canadian, my husband is Scottish. We are both chefs, travelling around the world to gain experience for our own business when we grow up!

We work at a couple of resorts on Koh Samui, cooking Thai & Western food.

We are also pregnant with our first child and planning on having it here!

Even though I am quite an americanized Thai, I have kept in close touch with my Thai families and friends as well as the going-ons of the ever-changing Thai culture and way-of- life. Been living a long time, seen a lot, tried to understand all points of view, valued respectful living in all cultures...

not an ideal situation at moment

sbk and boo thanx for initial info... at moment went thru lots these past months maybe will post story later on.... (involving jealous thai men, knives, police, angry 'pu yai baan' from kibbutz, etc.......arrrrhhgggg!!!)

but i manage to see him once every two weeks or so.... will post some pics

this man will walk over the ocean for me so at moment sticking by him (w/o endangering my kids oppurtunities on kibbutz)

Congratulations with your 1000th post Bina but I doubt if you have any pleasure of it, being in such difficult circumstances. I wondered how you were since I didn't see you post anymore.

yeah i didnt notice....

no i cant yet since i ahve a twelve year old daughter still to raise (and she cant come with since ex wouldnt allow it and she wouldnt deal well with thailand either (not a very flexible child)... oldest is pre army, in one more year goes to army (this year is in special program for young leaders so will live away from home but the army encourages family visits etc); the middle son will be in army in two years so will have to see in a year or so....\

anon is trying to buy time here but it is very very difficultu and there is no chance for him to get any kind fo visa here ... if he is caught, he is jailed and sent home... in which case i will have to come and visit and play it by ear... but i also lack money.... but he is very determined and tough, and it turns out that so am i ... so...... just didnt want to post the whole sordid story cause it will read like a turkish (or indian) four hour movie with lots of sobbing, police action ( nothing criminal just visa crime) hiding out in the woods in rain and sleet, etc.... maybe i should write a book?..

Married with thai man 3yrs, living in UK for 2, one more year & he gets his UK passport & then maybe relocate to sweden or spain? or maybe back to LOS. Who knows No kids yet, we are working on it though
