thaimite
See this post http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/578224-fibre-to-the-home-iin-rural-issan/ Maybe it will be an option for you. It was only by luck that the wife even found the option was available. It was not mentioned during previous calls to the office
Richard-BKK
Does your village have a school? Then donate ADSL connection to the school, this will sound expensive but this is Thailand and you can deduct donations to schools from your yearly tax... The end result is you have Internet at your house, and you actually didn't pay so much
BrianCR
If your girlfriend could translate properly you would not be asking the question that you are posting!!!
Sandman77
How long Is aproximently the waiting time for the setup , and tot stuff call back?
muratremix
How long Is aproximently the waiting time for the setup , and tot stuff call back? A few months, A month minimum to set up box etc. Don't get your hopes up! But money is speaking, it will get done sooner or later. Better than never! If you plan to stay long time in your girlfriend's village home, nothing can beat a fixed ADSL internet.

I live in Khampaeng Phet province and I am about 4 km from the nearest landline and I applied for a line too. They said 10 people have to sign and it should be OK. I applied and I am still waiting. That was EIGHT years ago. Fortunately we now have a TOT wireless link which is pretty much OK.
muratremix
Landline and internet line is different. And now if you have tot wifi tower, they wont deploy adsl box (they may if internet demand surges up)
billd766
Landline and internet line is different. And now if you have tot wifi tower, they wont deploy adsl box (they may if internet demand surges up) When I have called the TOT call centre with a problem (only when the local guys have gone home for the day) the nice young ladies ask if the ADSL light is on or not I try to explain that I don't have an ADSL link but that doesn't fit into the stock box answer. I don't have an ADSL line but her response is, is the light on or off so now I just tell her no ADSL light and she is happy and logs it as a fault. I still don't have a phone line either.
