ok i have booked a flight manchester,uk to Bangkok stops in Brussels.

flight was premium economy on both legs of the flight.

Man to Brussels , Brussels airways. then changes plane in Brussels with a flight run by Thai airways who do not have premium economy service.

before i booked this flight i was told there is no way i would be down graded to eco seat as i have paid for premium eco.

called Thai airways who said it looks like im on a eco seat.

what can i do ? can i argue this with the company or try to get a refund ?

was the travel agent you used bonded to ABTA or anyone like that, or did you pay using a credit card?

paid using a debit but my bank is pretty good at refunding ect.

The website address(es) shown above have been provided to the CAA by the travel firm that holds the ATOL.

there is no small print its a mistake on there website stating pre economy both legs ,small print mentions nothing. as Brussels airways share code with thai airways and Brussels have pre eco seats but thai airways dont i was told there is no way i would be down graded to eco.

its confusing but the seat i paid for is well over a normal eco price seat.

was going to book eva for my first choice from London aswell untill i seen this flight.

Why don't you just call them and ask.

there closed i have called thai airways who see my flight as a eco seat.

i booked my seat to brussels no problem but couldnt book my 2nd leg as he had a problem ( no pre eco ) was my guess and was told he would get back to me monday but called thai airways and its already been booked on a eco seat.

so wondering if anyone has had this same problem and been upgraded to business class as they where 100% sure i would not be put in eco before i booked it.

As Thai don't have Pre Eco seats it is very unlikely that you are upgraded to business class as the Pre Eco seats are eco seats with some extra perks and/or little extra space.

Unless you have status with Thai you are stuck in eco.

just received my booking e ticket and both are eco seats. which is also strange as i picked my seat in pre economy first leg.

anyone delt with carlton Leisure before?

How much did you pay?

Also, when are you flying?

Is it so urgent you can't wait until Monday to ask the agent you booked it through?

The price will give you your answer?

You seem to be flying prem econ on the shorter leg.

As you know TG do not have this but business class which is, lets say a lot more than Prem Economy would be.

In my opinion I think that the price you paid, you thought you'd had a result as you knew about the TG service but now it's bitten you on the arse and your not happy.

I'd be interested to know the price.

I have just checked Carlton Leisure's website and chose one month fare in May returning June, the fare is GBP1136.00.

It is quite clear in the fare details that it is Premium Economy MAN/BRU/MAN with Brussels Airlines and Economy BRU/BKK/BRU with Thai Airways.

Checked the same route with British Airways website MAN/LHR/BKK/LHR/MAN in their Premium Economy it is GBP1359.00 same dates as above.

Checked Eva Air's website, same dates again, Elite(Premium Economy) Class LHR/BKK/LHR is GBP934.00.

Try and get a full refund if you can if you think you were falsely sold a fare and use Eva Air, much better airline.

Hmm.. Premium Economy on a 1 Hr and 20 minute flight? Never heard of it! unless it is simply one of those economy seats except they they don't put anyone in the middle and perhaps give you something to eat while those up the back starve for an hour!

Don't ask here, ask the airline, I agree with most posters you don't have a chance in hell of getting a business seat given the total price of the fare.

You don't mention when you are flying, sunkissed. The price depends on the agent you've booked with, the dates you are flying and other variables. And premium economy is nothing to write home about. Did it once with EVA and paid roughly a £200 premium over economy and can't say I noticed much difference.

There's little chance of getting a refund from the Agent or your bank.

Put it down to experience.

That site appears to let you book premium economy flights to just about any destination, regardless of whether those seats exist or not. It's clearly broken. If it was me I'd take a few screenshots of their imaginary offerings (particularly anything that states the aircraft as Dash8, RJ100 etc.) so that if necessary you can show their error to be systematic and not 'airline-related beyond their control etc.'.

thanks taotoo i have saved screen grabs and it is clearly a website issue which needs to be fixed.

i have confirmation both legs stating premium eco from them but a e ticket stating both eco seats now.

so hopefully get a refund as its there error.

will keep you updated with the outcome tomorrow

What fare basis does it say on the ticket?

I know 2 people who booked flights to BKK from LHR completely separately, who were promised that the airline would upgrade them and that the hotel would upgrade them etc, but who were given discount econ seats that would never be upgraded. They were made promises that couldn't be delivered in order to make the sale.

If you are of a larger frame, I definitely recommend EVA premium economy.

People of a larger frame should lose some weight, then they can use any airline.

What does weight have to do with long legs? We aren't all sub 6 foot midgets.

Even those of us who are not so tall prefer not to be elbow to elbow on a long flight. EVA Premium economy is perfect for just a little bit of comfort on the flight.

I fly outbound in business.. Even better.. Combine the 2 and it's only £1300 or so and you get to sleep on the night leg having dosed up on alcohol in the American Airlines lounge.

If you can find a reasonable one way LHR or MAN/BKK, which I can't, Sri Lankan Air have a very reasonable one way BKK/LHR business class for just over THB30,000/one way.

All return fares appear to be in the vicinity of GBP2,000.00.

Happy hunting.

See my post #27?

Sri Lankan fare was on their website.

I have booked Sri Lankan business class for April return June, BKK/LHR/BKK for just over THB62,000/person, unfortunately that cost is nowhere near the reverse journey.
