laban
Last weekend, and on previous visits, the shuttle boats to Asiatique from Saphan Taksin are dangerously overcrowded. I noticed a sign saying capcity of 70 passengers but am sure there were more than 200. I was told there are life jackets but am sure they dont have 200 of them. I know safety is always low on priorities in Thailand and on the Chao Phraya but an accident would be disastrous, Money and the amount of people visiting Asiatique is obviously more important to the owners. kblaze
Who runs those shuttles? Is it a private company?
Deserted
I think most of the boats suffer with the same problem in that part of the river. As is normal for BKK demand outstrips supply. You can certain of a bout of serious illness if you swallow any of that water whilst swimming for your life should the worst happen.
