March 8, 201313 yr Since Thailand and Cambodia implemented this single visa scheme, is it still possible to simply cross the border and return the same day? I currently have two tourist visas(double and single entry from Laos)and one extension in my passport. My flight is 8 days after my extension ends. Would it be possible to take the ticket into Bangkok immigration and request a second extension?
March 8, 201313 yr Border crossing entries are not affected in anyway by the Thai/Cambodia visa agreement. The longest extension you can get is 7 days which is really not an extension but a denial of your application and you are given 7 days to leave. I suggest you do a border run to get the extra days you need.
March 8, 201313 yr Can You Still Get A 15 Day Stamp On Arrival At Poipet? It depends on your nationality: http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/123/15396-Tourist-Visa-Exemption.html The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
March 10, 201313 yr Hi. Ubonjoe is right about visa extensions from the Thai Immigration office. Just received one at District 1 a week ago. The fee was 1900 THB. Went to Poipet on Friday. Got a Camboda visa there. I paid 1000 THB for the visa and 500 THB for a guy to get me syamped in/out. There was a long queue and the temp was 40+C. You can apply ahead of time on line and get an eVisa for $25. If you do that, make sure you do it a few days ahead of time as it takes a while to get the confirmation email. You will need that printed when you cross into Cambodia. If you have the eVisa, go to the Cambodian check-in after crossing over. If you don't want to stand in the queue, the official at the queue will get your stamps for 200 THB. Other than the 2 hour queue for Thai immigration, there was no issue getting a new tourist visa after having an extension. The visa is 14 days, not 15 as many people state. Good luck.
March 10, 201313 yr It is not a tourist visa, it is a visa exempt entry. It is for 15 days, the day of stamping is counted as day 1. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
March 10, 201313 yr As said visa exempt is 15 days for most except for Cambodians who only get 14 days. Day of arrival and departure are always counted by Thai immigration so base your counts on that.
