Can anyone reccomend a good place for a nose job or rhinoplasturgery? Is there a place in Sri Ratcha or even Pattaya or am I best going to Bkk or Phuket? Any info on prices etc.?

You should go to Bangkok. And pick the surgeon, not the hospital.

If it is for a Thai and just to insert a bridge, there are a lot to choose from.

If it is for a farang need to be sure you get someone familiar with western noses.

If you do a search on this forum for rhinoplasty may find some specific doctor suggestions.

It's for me (faring). I have a big nose and want it smaller. I thought sriracha had that no?

They can do it, yes, but I really advise going to Bkk and getting a doc experienced in doing farang noses.

Dr Amorn at Bumrungrad is top notch (board certified in US & Canada and worked there for many years) but costs considerably more than others.

Dr. Greechart at Yanhee is also good and has done plenty of western noses.

He's certainly not cheap.

Any idea why some of these 'top notch' aesthetic surgeons are not on this list? I'm not sure how old the data is, but it might be a question worth directing at a doctor. For those in Chiang Mai, Dr. Somboon Chaisrisawadisuk from the 'pinned list' is on this list.

Because they are not members, and did their training and board certif in the west, not in Thailand. Dr. Amorn for example did only his basic MD in Thailand, all his specialty training was in the US. Presumably having US Board Cert he does not see a need to apply for Thai Board Cert (and there might be bureacratic hassles involved for those whose training was out of country).

Dr. Greechart's charges are considerably lower than those of Dr. Amorn, can get the price list on the Yanhee website.

And there are less expensive options still, but whether or not seeking the least expensive plastic surgeon is a good idea is another matter.

Need to consider the complexity of what you want done and also, if you are western, the doctor familiarity with western faces/bodies and western aesthetic tastes as these can differ from Thai.

Re noses, Thais usually want a bridge inserted and that is a very straight forward affair. For a westerner, if it is a "hook nose" that you just want flattened and nothing more, also not so complicated -- they just level out the bone. But if you have in mind anything more than that, need to really chose carefully and make sure you and the doc are on the same page about the desired outcome and that he has the skill to obtain it.

Thanks Sheryl, makes sense. Do you think a surgeon such as Dr. Amorn would (should) be registered with the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) or alternatively how does one go about proving foreign qualifications?.

To verify US Board cert go here and enter the doc's name https://www.abplsurg.org/ModDefault.aspx?section=SurgeonSearch

I expect other countries will have similiar mechnisms

It is no small feat for a non-native English speaker pass the Board exam in the States, and the clinical requirements are stiff as well.

Difficult, as you need to enter an American state or city, I guess they didn't envisage anyone training in the USA and going back home. It's a brilliant feat to pass the board exams for the states, but anyone who said they did, should still be able to be checked out and you probably can if needs be, but I'll leave it here. If I looked at his certificates on the wall I wouldn't know if they were from Kansas or Khao Sarn, though I expect Bumrungrad would have done all the checking necessary. Thanks for your responses. smile.png

No, you don't (need to enter US state or city). You can enter only name. Try it for Dr. Amorn Poomee, it works fien and confirms his certification.

Thanks for all your help Sheryl. I have send photos to Yanee but no email response. They actually called me Saturday and said she will have the doctor look at my email and get back to me Monday which did not happen. It is these kind of situations that I feel I should give the business to someone who needs it and I agree you get what you pay for. I will try the other you mentioned now. Again thank you for all the help.
