Repairing A Zipper On A Vintage Bag...

Recommended Posts

I have a lovely vintage Louis Vuitton bag that was my aunts. Its the read deal! However the zipper is old and its worn and torn.

Is it totally a long shot to even consider getting it repaired half-decently here?
Any place that could actually do a good job?

The bag repair shop on Hang Dong Road, south of Tesco Lotus, on western side of road, may be able to help though I can't offer a personal reference. They seem to specialise in all bag, and suitcase repairs. Map ref > http://goo.gl/maps/TsLmj

My wife had a leather bag repaired opposite Chiang Mai gate ... little old man does excellent stitching although you might have to supply the zipper ex Wororot Rd dressmaking supplies shop. Old man is in shop next to hair salon supplies, where the songteaws stop.

UPDATE: stumbled across THE zipper supply shop today on way to Wororot Market. Kul Shop is at 30 Chang Moi Tad Mai road - virtually on the corner of Chang Moi Rd where 2-way traffic is on the wrong side of road (US style).

They stock ALL tailoring/sewing needs ... never seen such an array of zippers, fasteners and very very busy. Owner speaks English too!

If its the "real deal" LV bag then you can take it to a Louis Vuitton store and get it fix. FYI: All Louis Vuitton bags are life time guarantee. They send it out to get fix and also refurbish your bag in about 6-8 weeks.

Hope this helps.
