Hi. We had an occurance at home this week that got me thinking.

A few days ago I heard our demand pump cycling for no apparant reason and immediately suspected a leak confirmed by a slowly spinning water meter.

Luckily I found the leak quickly and easily fixed it myself.

It was caused by the step around our house shifting slightly and cracking the pipe underneath.

Now I fixed it for 44bht the cost of a pipe joint and a small pot of glue but it got me thinking that if a major leak did some costly damage then some insurance could be worthwhile.

So does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations on types of building insurance available.

Most insurance companies offer a packaged Property insurance and water damage is included – examples can be from a leaking pipe to a hole in the roof.
