Hi,

I am 51, retired, and in the process of applying in Australia for a non-immigrant O-A visa with the intention of living in Thailand. My spouse, a Burmese national, now an Australian citizen, will be joining me. According to immigration advice, she will be considered for the visa for temporary residents under the 'O' code.

While I can find the application Form A for myself, nowhere do I see a 'O' only form. Is it the same as the 'A' form or is there a specific 'O' form that should be used?

Thanks.

The same visa application form is normally used for all visas but changes from Consulate to Consulate. The type of visa and reasons are entered on the form. What Consulate will she be using?

I think I would reconsider the OA visa option unless your wife can qualify for the same visa.

You wife will probably need to make border runs with a multiple entry non-o visa because immigration normally do not give dependent extensions for OA visa entries.

It would be better for you both to get single entry non-o visas from one of the honorary consulates in Australia (IE: Brisbane).

You would then get an extension of stay here and then you wife as your dependent.
