March 18, 201313 yr should have known a club with no bargirls would not be known Here's the problem for you; - The age demographic in TVF skews to the elderly white male segment 45-75 - Those that are younger , probably are not big hip hop fans. I am not. Some of my Thai friends are and it is a constant source of friction if we are in the car and one of them puts on his favourite noise maker. I dutifully pull out a Ramones memory stick as retaliation. They don't like it and a hissy fit ensues. - Most of the younger Euro set tends towards house/trance/jungle beat club music. Again, something which necessitates retaliation on my part with either a dose of Social Distortion or Motown or some rejuvenating 2tone ska. Club Music people are chased off by anything with a killer horn section. - The club you reference appeals more to those people who are gainfully employed with a higher paying job and that are younger. Again, not a big demographic when many of the younger people are employed as low wage earning "teachers". They can barely make the rent so "splurging a few thousand baht on a night out would blow their budget. BTW, the higher end clubs do have "bargirls" however, they tend not to be as in your face as in the local low end beer bar or club. They circulate and will pounce if they see a suitable client. The clubs also have their share of "barboys". I made the mistake of assuming one that was hovering around was staff and handed him my empty glass. He wasn't amused. Fortunately, the battle axe with me took care of. Nothing like a Thai lady accountant to slice and dice me out of trouble. absolutly right in most cases, however most hip hop singers and DJ's are very open to all Genres. I absolutly love the ramones, how could you not. I have a great love of most music, take chuck D of public Enemy the legendary Hip Hop group, he was a Blues Singer in his early days. I said in the post I like Hip Hop, that does not mean I dont love others. FYI, Bed is predominately house, very little if any hip hop played, Bash has a hip hop level, but the house floor is where the fun happens It's only house when the resident DJs are playing though. They have had some decent drum n bass DJs there recently.
March 18, 201313 yr I have been to Bed Supperclub a few times. You can get free entry sometimes if you RSVP via their facebook page. Bed Supperclub is a nice club with a good sound system but its quite small. It's cut into 2 rooms and usually only one of the rooms has the DJs in. Drinks are quite expensive. 350 baht for a Grey Goose vodka and a mixer and its 210 baht for a SMALL beer. So it's quite overpriced... I usually go hang out by one of the campervan bars on the street beforehand, get some cheap drinks down me there and then head into Bed Supperclub. p.s. They also have a rule of no shorts, flip flops etc. So don't turn up looking like you hang out by Khao San. You'd be best to buy a bottle of vodka from 7/11 and transfer it to other smaller receptacles = eg perfume bottle. Every time you go for a leak have a swig. Save a fortune.
March 18, 201313 yr Some places to check out for Hip Hop are 1) Route 66 in RCA 2) Santika on Ekkamai ... actually inside this club is another section called Coloc (this is probably better spot for hiphop) 3) Escudo on Thong Lor 4) Escobar on Ekkamai 5) Slim in RCA

There's nothing wrong with trying to get a free ticket online. Doesn't take much effort. If she normally drinks say 15 drinks a night to get a pleasant buzz and she drinks half in a cheaper place at say 100 baht a vodka and mixer, she'd save over 2000 baht for the night, including free ticket. Some people weren't born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Do you know what it feels like to be hungry?
March 18, 201313 yr Bed supper clubs pretty good. There's also heaps of wild clubs in that street think it's called rpk? Clubs like San frandisco etc. BTW it was mix master Mike playing and he's got mega skills that don't include pressing buttons as some suggest. Even though I'm not a fan of him, dj Tiesto gets 60,000Euro for 2hours work, and if that's the pay for pressing buttons, I'd rather press those than these keyboard buttons anyday.

March 18, 201313 yr Author great info guys, as for whiskey I'm not against slipping a hip flask in a pocket. And the flip flops and shorts are no prob, my closet looks like a fashion house, I i'm like a woman when it comes to clothing.
March 18, 201313 yr I was about to post a warning against petty bickering between a couple of you - but the OP has stepped in and brought things back on track. More good info for the OP please, less nonsense about the morals of being poor - okay?
March 18, 201313 yr I'm not sure if the "stay home" was aimed at me... If it was, I only prefer to drink at the campervans before Supperclub opens and that way I can get more alcohol for my money. If that concludes that I'm a broke lady on a night out then you're quite wrong. I'm quite financially stable. I just like to drink at the campervans before the night fully starts and it gets me in the mood. Not really sure what the dig was for...
March 18, 201313 yr Author He also sang Gospel...!!!! you taking the piss, if not i learnt something new.
March 18, 201313 yr Why is that a surprise? Think about it. Bono used to be Pope before he was promoted...
March 18, 201313 yr BASH is ok - they do make an effort in terms of spectacle; think midgets dressed up in cupid outfits, dancers spray-painted in gold and glammed up ladyboys all aimed at creating a debauched, hedonistic Manumission-type vibe - but, personally, I'm much more interested in the vibe created by quality music. Many of the DJs seem to be locked into a perpetual contest to see who can play the most obscure, soulless, yawn-inducing 4/4 beats and plodding basslines ever arranged on a sequencer but there are a few who do play tunes where the artist has actually incorporated a melody or a chord into the mix.
March 18, 201313 yr Lots of good places to dance here but the genre is most often a kind of generic dance/pop/Thai rock blend.... specifically hiphop is out there but you may be chasing a group or a specific evening or event rather than a venue per se; more specifically, I often go out to clubs but rarely find what I think OP is looking for. I could ask a friend of mine who is more of a local music specialist but I will have to get back to you in a few days.CWMcMurray's list above looks like a good 'starting points' list. You might even try asking staff in those places where THEY would look for more of the hiphop you like. Edited March 18, 201313 yr by Ijustwannateach
March 18, 201313 yr Flame removed. Last warning to stay on topic. If you can't play nice, go elsewhere.
