Double Entry Tourist Visa Says "enter Before__" Will I Have Problems Entering The Day Of?

Featured Replies

I procrastinated as usual and am finding that an idea return flight is sold out for the 22nd, as my visa says "enter before 23rd". If I exit and return the 23rd will it cause problems? This is for my second entry (yes I already used my 60 days and 30 day extension). Please help, as I am nearly panicking sad.png

Also, would 3.5 hours be enough time to get from Udon Thani, to border, get my stamp, and get back to airport in Udon Thani?

Udon to the Border about 90 minutes in airport van, same for return plus say about 60 mins queuing for stamp - all in all about 4 hours plus and you can use the visa until midnight on the day of expiry

I have not done but have never seen anyone mention more than a 1 hour drive to Nong Khai immigration from Udon Airport and Google says 60km and 48 minutes. Obviously it could take longer but do not believe 90 minutes is normal.

thank you, I may consider taking the later return flight then... but my main question is arriving on the 23rd and returning the same day, even though on visa it says "enter before 23rd"

That was also answered - although they used to sometimes question allowing entry have not seen any reports of problems in last decade - just enter before midnight on that date. But always recommend doing day early if you have any such option to avoid any chance of an issue from an officer on a bad star alignment day.

Ok sir, thank you very much. now I must comtemplate allowing myself 3.5-4 hours to do this all, or risk sitting in Udon Thani airport for about 6 hours... what would you do?

Correction: 8-9 hours

My last trip across that border was in 1975 but have never had an issue with 6 hours in an airport - have had flights delayed longer than that.

I suppose this is the better route to take... "better safe than sorry" as they say..

Though I have confirmed there are options that would take me to border "under an hour" (which I will just assume is an hour) giving me 90 minuets total at the border to exit and re-enter etc.

He's not going to Nong Khai immigration he has to go into Lao and get a stamp before returning the same way and queuing both outgoing and incoming - and I have done it a few times

My distance and time are to immigration at bridge - I understand he must then cross/return but you stated airport van to border and would expect that to be to this immigration point.

So to clarify for me on the same subject

My tourist visa has "ENTER BEFORE : 2 Apr 2013

Can I do a visa run on the morning of the 2nd and return the same day with no issues and will be given a 60 day stamp?

Thanks in advance

LL

Have not seen any recent report of that not being allowed but would still advise doing the day before. They used to point this English meaning as a gotcha (but even then believe they normally allowed).

I personally would never plan on waiting until the last day to do it because anything can happen that would delay your trip. This is especially important when using the last entry of a visa because if you didn't make it you would loose that entry.

For a permit to stay date running out it would just cost you 500 baht for being a day late.

Better be safe, if there is a road accident or any other delay you would be in trouble.

Just be sure you got time on your side and relax.
