The story about this incident in the British paper the Daily Mail implied the men were Thai police. Any other information to back this up ??

None at all, it's a headline they fabricated based on no evidence other than maybe some random youtube comment. It's just the usually horrible journalism you'd expect from the Daily Mail and their resident bottom feeder in Thailand that will write anything for a headline and a paycheck.

On Andrew Drummond's site there is now a new article with a translation of the Burmese. The men are fellow Burmese migrant workers, who are angry at the women for working as prostitutes and want them to stop. The men tell the other workers, to call them if they continue whoring and they will come back

Will we see an article correcting the previous one in the Daily Mail that said the Thai police were beating Burmese prostitutes? Yeah not likely. Everyone has already made their money, on to the next scandal they can exploit.

I think that the point there is that if it did turn out to be he Thai police,no-one would be surprised!It's already been mentioned,I think on here that some of these guys are speaking Thai and are clearly Thai nationals!

This is common practise of pimps worldwide, why focus on the specific video because it's obviously thai or burmese ?

What this video implies is that pimps beat the women within their range of power. Women get beaten, get gang raped, get tortured and some get killed and maimed. Some get thrown into rooms where they get gang raped over a long period before they get dumped into concrete or fed to the dogs.

It's this society that makes men become pimps, makes brutes of pimps and from a ruthless pimp to a bloody murderer it is only a small step. Men beat women is the common practise in millions of marriages.

I've heard it said that a mother has a great deal of impact on the emotional development (early childhood / formative or impressionable years) of her children. I'm vaguely aware that some mothers assert a requirement exists for them to remain at home to raise their children right. My mother was one of these "children must be raised Right" types; I remember a great many lies, endless hypocrisy, a tendency to punish honesty, a blanket refusal to respond to questions of motive...but little in the way of example.

One wonders why mothers who imprint their sons with fealty to the point where some can kill you (if they imagine you've said a bad word about their mother) don't invest that time in teaching their sons about women and how to respect them. And their daughters about men and how it's not in their best interests to exploit them.

All the lying needs to end or the world is going up in mushroom clouds. Women are lying about biology. Men are (unfathomably) invariably confused on that count. Every road leads to mothers who raise their children with lies and reverse love.

Wow, really bad journalism. Daily Mail should print a retraction. Wonder why the Thai media picked up so strongly on this, if it really was Burmese girls getting beaten up while in another country... Those facts would seem to make this a non event here in Thailand.

On a side note, I wonder if we will ever see a video like this filmed in Thailand. Meaning Thai men beating up Thai prostitutes to convince them to stop selling their bodies to evil foreigners....Nah probably not.... :-)

Any man who physically or psychologically abuses a woman is a coward and I don't care what thier nationality is. The guys in this clip are the lowest of low cowards. Why do they need the support of each other to beat up on one small woman are they that terrified to go one on one with her? These guys are pathetic cowards how many in the gang would they need if it was a lone man they were facing?
