Revenue Dept expects to pay up to 8 billion baht in tax returns in 2012 tax year

BANGKOK, 21 March 2013 (NNT)-The Revenue Department is expected to pay 8 billion baht in income tax returns in 2012 with the majority of tax payers filing the tax forms online.

Director-General Sathit Rangkasiri said 80% of tax payers filed their tax forms for 2012 online and the number of online submissions will likely increase this year as the dead line for an online submission has been extended to April 9th.

However, for those who wish to submit the forms in person, they only have until April 1st to do so. Mr. Sathit pointed out that since spouses can now file a separate form, the amount of tax to be returned to payers could be as high as 8 billion baht as the figure has already reached 7 billion baht so far.

The Director General said an English language form is also available for non-Thais while those who rely on smart phones for their daily undertakings can now file the form on their devices.

I would boycott paying tax as the bastards are stealing it.

8 Billion Baht, Bangkok on its own should be netting 4 times more than that.

Maybe you should read th article again.

The correct term for the article is REFUND, not return. That's 8 billion baht in tax REFUNDS. If reporters are quoting the taxation DG accurately, maybe he doesn't have a clue about how taxation works.
