Police in Prachuap Khiri Khan are investigating a break-in at an upmarket home in Wang Phong, Pran Buri, where burglars reportedly removed a wall-fixed safe and valuables worth several million baht.

The property belongs to businesswoman Kornchawan, whose surname has been withheld, and her foreign businessman husband. The couple were away when the burglary occurred, according to reports.

Entry and stolen property

A housekeeper found signs of forced entry when arriving to look after the home. A bathroom door had been forced and a window screen cut, which investigators believe may have been the route used by the intruders.

Inside, the burglars allegedly forced open and removed an entire safe which the owner had reportedly stated, was firmly fixed to a wall, as well as luxury goods.

Kornchawan said 14 luxury bags were stolen. The list supplied included a red Louis Vuitton pouch; Gucci Marmont top handle bag in blue, code 547260DT; Gucci Marmont bucket bag in cream, code 575163DTDRT-9022; Louis Vuitton Monogram Giant Neverfull UBT110823; brown-orange MCM shopper; black tote; gold Chanel, code AS1160B03954N8473; Christian Dior Lady Dior; Louis Vuitton M60743; black Louis Vuitton Wave Chain Tote; Louis Vuitton Pallas Monogram Clem M41148; Louis Vuitton Grand Palais MM MEMP.N8 M45842; and a white Louis Vuitton NeoNoe.

Also reported missing were land title deeds, three vehicle registration books covering cars and motorcycles, an unspecified number of cash cheques, two German passports and one Thai passport. Gold jewellery, luxury watches and house keys were also taken.

Police checking CCTV and appeal to locals

Kornchawan filed a complaint with Lt. Phtawan Siamnad, an investigator at Pran Buri Police Station, on August 7. Investigation officers and forensic staff have been sent to collect latent fingerprints and other evidence.

Police are also checking CCTV cameras on routes around the area in an effort to identify and arrest those responsible.

The homeowner has asked nearby residents, second-hand dealers, pawnshops and pre-owned designer bag shops to alert police if anyone attempts to sell bags or other items matching the description. She has offered a reward for information leading to arrests and the recovery of the property.

Looks like it was just to the cupboard and pried from behind. One reason you don't brag about what you have, nor let anyone into your house besides family. Anyone can tell anyone else what you have and just a matter of time until this happens. They see money, things flashed in public, jewelry, bags, etc so know it's in the house.

Should investigate the cleaner... as they always know what's in a house and IMO you should never use one. Don't be lazy if you have loads of valuable stuff in your house. You should be careful of anyone who you let into your home... even the air-con cleaning/furniture delivery guys will be making notes.

Possibly, but she was already a receptor of many things. Things that were taken, so either it was her allowing friends and family to share the wealth, knowing it will be eventually replaced, or she allowed someone into the home who saw what they had and decided it's party time.
