A simple hand-made Mosquito Trap - A very Cheap Way to kill mosquitos:

This information could save thousands of innocent lives from the cruel fate of dengue.

A Simple hand-made Mosquito trap ( Prevention of Dengue & other mosquito born diseases)

It’s just a mix of water, brown sugar and yeast.

1. Cut a plastic bottle in half, keep both parts. Can be soft drink
bottle.
2.Take the lower portion of the bottle. Dissolve the brown sugar in hot
water. Let it cool down to ~70 deg F (room temperature).
3.Add the yeast. Carbon dioxide will be formed and will attract the
mosquitoes.
4.Cover the bottle with a dark wrap and insert in the top portion upside
down like a funnel. Place it in a corner in your house.
5. In 2 weeks you will be surprised by the number of mosquitoes killed. Pls. don't forget to share this to all your friends if really care for them.

Great post! I'll have a few of those by tomorrow night.

Can't tell how the buggers get through my screens and closed windows and doors, but they do, and I get bit every night recently.

Err, why won't the mosquitoes fly out again? As far as I can see, the mosquitoes are not trapped in the container.

Same principle as a fish trap. I think you are overestimating mosquito intelligence.

I am sure you are right Chicog. It's just that those little mosquitoes seem to be able to find the smallest crack and slip in. But the OP's suggestion is a good one and I shall try it. Seems to be same principle as the black hole electric gizmo that retails for 2000 baht.

There is remarkable enthusiasm from would be mosquito killers, both on this thread and on the Facebook page from which this clever little DIY 'mosquito destroyer' was taken.

Unfortunately, not a single post from someone who has actually tried it.

Am I being paranoid or is it possible that this is a wind-up?

How come nobody has reported back - successful or otherwise?

Prove me wrong, coz I wanna try it smile.png
