Just a quick post to say thanks loads to everyone who advised on SV applications despite my query being non-Thailand related. All the good advice paid off and hubby was granted settlement visa in ten mins- they even invited me in for the latter part! oh had to pick myself off the floor with the shock!

Anyway won't go into the nitty gritty but to make this somewhat related to Thai Visa I should add that he has certainly got a less than desirable immigration history and we were dealing with one of the busiest visa sections (Lagos) - so just wanted to say to all those still trying - seriously prepare well, make sure you meet the criteria as best you can and you hopefully cannot fail.

I have had my own issues with the Home Office and still struggle with their delays and still do. I also realise that the situation in Bangkok is very different to Lagos - the fact that I was allowed into the building and indeed the interview says that alone but seriously - it was very clear that by preparing a folder with clear content and indexing that the ECO's job was easier. This, I think, not only made him more likely to decide in our favour but also to see how serious we were.

I know all situations are different but just to hammer it one more time - prepare prepare prepare and they may just surprise you. I think we even could be classed as a quick interview - now that I NEVER thought was going to happen!!

Good luck to everyone still ongoing.

Thanks Scouser - I did check lol but he came in through Heathrow back then - then bussed it to Edinburgh!!! :D

Anyway just relieved it is all over - and you were very right about your previous info - came home from Lagos to a letter dated 27th Feb from Home Office confirming they were notifying Lagos they had revoked and SV application could proceed - so thank you again :o
