Not sure if this question is best here or in another Forum ?

use chrome with Win 7, use True [only option where I live] always appear to have to wait a long time for ThaiVisa to open, is always waiting for something, changed setting re 'George' advise long ago... still often times out..

To watch some UK TV I login via a UK IP address, if i open ThaiVisa when using a UK address ThaiVisa opens as soon as I click on it.... Why ?

Just happened this morning to want to open KIA Motors Thailand website, timed out every time = reason I tried the UK IP address.. opened 1st time fast, then forgot and went to ThaiVisa, also opened as soon as I clicked on it.

Only normally open a different IP address for something that will not open....... then close and go back to Thailand's IP address..

Is there something wrong with my IP here [got someone to look and change settings a month or so ago, made no difference]

Many Thai sites will not open unless using a Thai IP,

Problem.. My PC ? Router ? True ? or what ?

Have you tried another browser like Firefox?

Sounds like a DNS problem to me open a command box and type 'ipconfig /all' (without quotes). That will give you a list of all adapters and IP settings can you post the info for your current adapter?

Can you check you dint have forced DNS servers in your IP4 settings.

CP- Network -change adpt. Open the current connection then hit properties the slide down till you see IP4 and open that....

+1 on the DNS problem. Thai ISPs are notorious for fiddling about with their DNS servers in order to apply (or not) the government's internet censorship requirements.

Thanks...

but not to clear what to do....... the last image I have set as per Admin 'George' advise

202-170-126-90

8-8-8-8

If I run the Wizard I get a warning......

Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource [DNS SERVER] is not responding

been the same for at least 2 years.

Change to 'Obtain DNS Server address automatically' ??

Edit: Re- [got someone to look and change settings a month or so ago, made no difference] they made changes in the Router only configuration

NP we can walk you through this.

The servers George suggested are *normally* adequate and a lot better than the ones your ISP would have you using.

Do a Google for a FREEWARE app called DNSBench.exe

Run the app its test a shed load of DNS servers and gives you the results back what are best to use. I suggest running it with your current (George) setting then try again using the ISP defaults to see the difference.

It will take at least 1 hour to run so post back with the results.

OpenDNS is another alternative.

Its an option but I have found DNSBench when allowed to fully scan and run seems to offer quicker DNS resolution.

Here are the OpenDNS servers you can plug in and try....

208.67.222.222 in the Preferred DNS server

and 208.67.220.220 and Alternate DNS server

fields.

I have always found the Google servers to be OK(ISH). If I hit a wall there is always proXPN!

Doing the DNSBench shows for me 208.67.220.222 is at the top.......

Re started and well ThaiVisa opened 1st time with NO waiting

Many thanks......... never to old, just have to remember I can do this any-time to get the best

Happy to help.

I have worked in IT at all levels but I only found DNSBench a couple of months ago!

Enjoy.
