Bpuumike
Sort of related to the thread - will a fixed deposit account satisfy Immigration for O-A Visa Extension (of course, Thb800K and minimum 2 months in there)?
lopburi3
Normally accepted if in your name only and a cash type account (you can withdraw full amount at any time with only loss of interest). What is not allowed are stock and fund type accounts.
Pib
I've use a Bt800K fixed savings account to meet the income requirement for my retirement extension of stays for the last two years at Bangkok Immigration. As lopburi3 said, funds in a fixed savings account can be accessed immediately, however, you will lose most or all of the higher interest if doing so before the savings account matures. Yeap, works great to meet the immigration income requirement, being able to have funds immediately on-hand in case of an emergency/a big buy that needs to occur now, to earn a high interest rate, etc. Plus, you don't have to make that trek to your home country embassy to get their high priced income letter. Thanks Lop3 and Pib, good to know. Every trip to the British Embassy seems to cost a lot!
