Does Anyone Remember Ok Pizza And Mango Tree?

Featured Replies

i was looking through some old photpgraphs with my wife of the first time we visited chiang mai, more than 10 years ago, and came across some pics that reminded me of all the great restaurants there used to be. so it got me wondering if maybe some of the owners of those restaurants opened new ones that were just as good, but under a different name or different place. specifically, i wish i could eat the pizza from 'OK PIzza', a little place that used to be located at the main intersection of the night bizaar, in the same complex as mcdonalds. also, there used to be a place on lacrois called 'mango tree' that made the best breakfasts around.

Mango Tree was a Fav of mine when I first came to CM.

Alan was a decent guy with an interesting Military background.

Alan sold the Mango Tree to a chef that used to be a mod on Thai Visa. He is the one that instituted the great British breakfasts as I am pretty sure that it was all Thai food before he took over. Unfortunately, after a short time, he stopped paying much attention to the place and without enough supervision, his staff ran the place into the ground. I really miss those English breakfasts as well as the ones at the Laughing Leprechaun - which is also ancient history. There are not very many places around these days that do an excellent quality British breakfast.

I do remember OK Pizza. Their shtick was pizza with Thai flavors and the thought of choices like Tom Yum pizza and Som Tam pizza put me off. I think that they had classic pizzas as well, but I was so horrified by the thought of Thai ones that I never stepped foot in the place.
