Red-shirt chief seeks new probe into 2010 arson attack
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Red-shirt chairperson Thida Thavornseth Friday filed a petition with the Metropolitan Police Bureau asking for it to unmask the culprits behind the arson attack on CentralWorld in 2010. "Society has been misled into blaming the red shirts for the fire," she said.

Thida added that she wanted police to bring those responsible for arson and for killing people during the political mayhem to justice.

In response to the petition, Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Maj-General Anuchai Lekbamrung said police had cooperated with the Department of Special Investigation in solving the arson case, which led to an acquittal verdict. Should the red shirts have fresh evidence, police would be happy to pursue the new lead, he said.

Metropolitan Police commissioner Lt-General Kamronwit Thoopkrajang said he would appoint an investigative panel to re-examine the facts related to the arson case.

Separately, the red shirts will hold a rally on April 10 at Rajdamnoen Avenue to mark the months-long protest in 2010. The April 10 rally is scheduled to run from 1pm to midnight and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

All Thida needs to do is roll over in bed and ask her husband Weng how they were set alight.

Cheers for the mental picture mate. bah.gif

Yes. Not a very nice thing to do.

Most of us wouldn't expect you to see anything wrong with that.

It's damned hot outside, the rivers and klongs are drying up, there's mountains of unsold rice and it's that time of year again.

Come on Thida old girl, rally the reds and let's have a party again. BYOB.whistling.gif

There is nothing wrong with that.

The problem is that if that happened and the persons responsible were brought to justice, she would cry foul, as that wouldn't be who she meant.

sure?

so why not investigate and nail those responsible.

Neither can I so just as soon as K Thaksin comes back from his run we can bring him to justice as he is the one responsible for what went on.

So, various groups have examined the 'facts' and till now no culprit has been found. Therefor we have a look again at this 'cold case' of arson to see if something was overlooked and we can find the correct culprits every one wants (to find). To warm this case we'll have a party on the 10th

So the lunch boxes have been distributed and accepted then ?

Why these terrorists have to remind us every so many weeks about their terrorist actions 3 years ago ?

Can you imagine the yellow shirts having a sit in at the airport every 3 months to remind us of their actions before?

Because they want to remind everyone of their actions, that they were peaceful, unarmed protesters that didn't torch Central World (soon to follow with "we didn't torch anything at all").

In other words, to remind everyone of what really happened, you know, the correct facts.

For more information look for "Big Lie" under Goebbels, Joseph.

For once we agree.

But the chances of even charging Thaksin for his crime in planing and paying for the whole thing is never going to happen. First he would have to be here in Thailand and then there would have to be no mysterious death on his part.

U tube has many pictures and speeches by the red shirt leaders urging their followers to burn Bangkok down. They also should be charged. I am reasonably sure there is some law against inciting dumb goons to burn city's down.

I think a miracle has happened and reality has set in for him.

He is hoping another one will happen and people will forget him.

Ahh now that there's no rice to farm, the Red Shirts are free to hold their idiot rallies again! And Thida, about the arson attacks ,look no further then your own Red Shirts. You're fooling no one.

I wonder if the police will do all in there power to control it?

One policeman per protestor and road blocks to try and keep them out.

Well nice work Thida! first the Reds have managed to get an aquittal, now she wants to change history and get the Red Shirts completely exonerated,by claiming some other persons or parties did the burning in Bangkok.Next she will be telling us:the Red Shirts never entered Bangkok.

It gets more like a kids way of getting off the hook, e.g. you can't blame us,because you are all liars,we wasn't there!
