Note, I think its pretty standard for most office type companies in Thailand to mirror the BOT holiday list. Today is a holiday for most of us as well. smile.png

Yes.. actually many government institutions are open today. Just not most businesses.

So it was a good day to get some Songkran practice in with the kids, and prepare for the real holidays.

I thought it had been moved to Friday to extend the Songkran celebrations/upset miserable old gits.

I need to go to the bank, will they be open on Friday? The big ones, not the shopping mall fancy cover ones.

The Thai consulate in Chicago closes for all thai and U.S. holidays. It must be a good gig if you can bribe enough government officials to get a job there. Its too bad that they can't change their telephone announcement to say they were closed for a thai holiday.

Yes, banks and government offices should be open on Friday.

The real question is if you really want to get stuff done on that day. (Mornings should be fine though, if you have a car, or your errands only involve stuff that doesn't mind getting wet)

Speaking of Public holidays, I have found an English translation for "KOW DOW".

Step one. change it to 'Count Down'.

Step two. figured it out and realised that it's actually New Year's Eve. duuuh!rolleyes.gif
