Badminton?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, does anyone know of any inside, (With A/C) badminton courts? And if so, would anyone like to start up a once, or twice a week club? And a few beers afterwards....Pattaya area....

There's one near Ekammi. I'll have to ask where it is though.

Ok Arthurwait, thanks for the reply. However, no idea where Ekammi is? I'm in Naklua, but anywhere in Pattaya is OK with me.

Sorry I assume people are in Bangkok if no location is given.

I did edit the post to Pattaya...maybe after you posted. Sorry!

One of a few results google threw up.

Thanks mate, I found nothing on google.....really appreciate your help. BTW, if anyone is interested in any club sport.....bowling, football etc, etc with a bit of socialising afterwards (Some beers)....everyweek, and something we could do with the wives, or without, could be a good idea, no?

I'd be interested to join, both for the badminton and the beer...

So that's 2 of us....let's see if we can gain more interest....if not, we're on for a game of doubles :-)

Can do with some exercise, so lets see what happens in the days ahead. Think the missus might want to give badminton a try as well...

Moving to Pattaya forum...

There's a badminton court on 3rd road near south Pattaya road called Diamond. It is not air conditioned but you can meet many people from the expat community. I used to be a member of the expat badminton facebook group. All this is run by Niels Colov of Pattaya People Media Group so I suggest you contact him for playing days. I believe Tuesday/Thursday at 19:30.

Thanks for the info crispbacon......Just to let anyone interested in the badminton know that I am on my way to Kabin Buri for a family get-together today, and back on the 20th. I will have no internet there, so I will reply when I get back. Happy songkran!

A group use to play at the Ambassador on a weekly basis. Not sure if they still play there or not. It does not have AC.

I thought there was a squash group there - do they play badminton as well?

Yes, as well as tennis!

I've been playing at Diamond Badminton on 3rd road 3x a week for a few weeks now. I''m not sure I'd get as much out of it if it was air conditioned. The whole reason I go is for a good sweat and to get my heart rate up for an hour. It's a great workout. Diamond opens daily at 2pm (closed the 18-19th for Songkran) and the one directly across the street from it opens at 4pm. No idea if that one is closed for the holidays. It's much smaller and has only 4 courts but also only costs 100thb per hr vs Diamond which is 130thb/hr.

I am a member of Tony's gym and I usually train in Naklua. There are 2 courts which are unused 99% of the time. I am allowed to bring a guest for free and I have 2 rackets. Does anyone want to play? I'm very amateur but I want to have some fun cardio (as opposed to the boring cardio I usually do...). Please send me a message if interested. Thank you.
