All I can say is that, I know what I want when I know. And very often, I don't know for awhile, until I know - you know? Falling in love and even lust is very often out of my range of voluntary response. I can't plan it, but the unchanging qualities are respect, passion, intelligence, and a deep sense of self. I also appreciate someone who can help me plan finances and killl bugs and vermin without lording it over me

In a man I want someone who is happy in their own skin, is able to stick to his principles & opinions & argue for them if needed, I want someone who doesn't need to put others down to make himself feel like a bigger man or has outdated views about women, who is happy for me to be who I am without wanting me to change or deriding other women, is able to make a fire from wood, can hunt, kill & cook food in the wild (in case of a a day after tommorrow situation ) takes out the trash, puts up shelves & doesn't need to be nagged for days/weeks to do something if I ask him to.

I am not saying it's ridiculous that you want an intelligent man. Surely everyone would like an intelligent partner. What I find ridiculous is that you seem to be another one of those people that think only people with a degree can be smart. That is completely asinine. I have met countless people that had degree's coming out of their ears and they couldn't even spell properly. I went to college, didn't finish and never got my degree. Can you honestly say that it's impossible for me to be smart? Even when I have a 146 IQ?

My husband is one of the most honest, decent people I have ever met. He is kind, considerate, respectful and intelligent. He appreciates those qualities in me that make me who I am and wouldn't change a thing about me (well, I do talk alot, but he's used to that by now ).

In life:

Well, I'm with Boo on the financial front, it would be nice to be independently well off (instead of working for the family ) , enough for my own little house, and to not have to work my arse off (getting too old for this job!). Hi. I am most definately with Boo and SBK on this one. All that you said about the man and the little house and just having enough money to manage without working so hard. I have a 10-year-old as well.

I like everything about my partner, except that he is intolerant to his ethnic background. I'm working on it, though.
