Liverpool F.c.

Gerrard out for 6 weeks, so both our dead ball assist specialist and striking demon are out for Spurs, City and Chelsea away not to mention most likely being of the derby end of Jan and everything in between. We're are only in one and half competitions and one of them hasn't even started.

Potentially on a hiding to nowhere here

Henderson a big doubt for the weekend as well

""Jordan trained so he's fine," said Rodgers. "It was just precautionary the last few days."

I said Jordan would have to step up, and so he did. I would like him to play like that every week, the trouble is we think of that as Stevie's role. Spurs were not in the game today. They concentrated too much on Luis ( and couldn't handle him) and left space for Sterling and Henderson. I was please our midfield did so well.

Henderson played his best game in a red shirt ,but he was up against a ghost of a midfield on the day (un)fortunately lacking any spirit.

What was Capoue doing at the back against Suarez? ,surely even a blind man on a fast horse could see that was wrong from the get go.

Liverpool over ran a supposedly superior/powerful midfield from the first whistle.Could & should have been more goals in it for Liverpool but I'll settle for 5.

AVB? <deleted> clueless.

that was hilarious. jesus man.

henderson was magnificent, sakho showed again that he's our best centreback, flanagan was a revelation. suarez 2 goals 3 assists and not even man of the match. well played boys.

I forgot to mention Flanagan, last year was too early, this year he is looking good (needs to beef up a little though)

Dunno about Flanagan beefing up ...He's not scared of throwing in a tackle or going shoulder to shoulder with players bigger than him & coming out on top.plus his energy up & down the pitch could be comprimised with extra beef ,we don't want him not being able to get in the box for blockbusters against the spurs again.facepalm.giffacepalm.giffacepalm.gif

Well, I honestly thought we'd get turned over today...........I'll hold my hands up. Liverpool today were absolutely awesome. Best display I've seen since we gave the scum a hiding at old toilet. Drunkski right now, made up for flanno. Its weird the way I can't remember Allen or Lucas getting mentioned in the game today. Class class class. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Hi Stebe ,Allen & lucas did the donkey work ,the closing ,picking up bit's & bobs ,checking runs (not that many) from the spurs middlers ...Lucas looked <deleted> just before he got replaced by Alberto ~ who gave us a little extra running in the latter stages against the already dead in the water spurs.

My lad asked me to call him from outside (he was playing footy) when/if Liverpool scored ,I told him he not to get to excited it may be a while, as it would be a cagey game ,how wrong was I too?

Liverpool were excellent and Spurs were awful.

For the neutral, it was a great game to watch.

The only thing more exciting will be seeing the inane comments Alfie makes in trying to excuse the fact that Spurs really ARE sh!t, and will not finish top 6 let alone top 4.

Bearing in mind you dismantled them without 2 of your top 3 players.clap2.gif

I think we played a more fluid, faster paced game without Gerrard, particularly on the counter. I know it is hard to gauge when the Spurs League 2 team turned up, but it was noticeable.

This is a good thing in his absence and maybe it gives Rodgers a plan B for when Gerrard is back.

Some of Coutinho's touches and control yesterday where top draw.....you have bought a few crap players but this guy is the real deal and worth buying a few marbles to uncover a diamond.

Henderson stepped up yesterday also still a chance for him with England if he can consistently perform at that level.

Cannot believe Coutinho was wallowing in an Italian reserves team.

Most of us wouldn't have bothered much if Henderson was sold in the summer. Just shows how much expectation, price tag and moving to big club can weigh on young shoulders.

Joe Allen looks to be getting his mojo back too.

I'd like to see Alberto get more game time.

You might be smug now, but you wait until you play them away.

Oops that was away, seemed like a home game.

i like alberto. got a lovely touch, good awareness and vision, nice weight on his passes. isn't the paciest but his movement seems to make up for that. could be a good idea to start him in place of lucas against cardiff this weekend, give lucas a rest as we'll need him against city and chelsea.

^ Don't agree. Lucas has played less than half minutes over last three games and has a totally different role to Alberto. He has been the least used of all the midfielders recently. Best bet, given the confidence the team now has is not to rotate, but to utilise Luis as a sub once the game is won.

we're going to need fresh legs over these three matches, they're hugely demanding ones. our squad is thin and the three midfielders all worked their <deleted> off yesterday. i don't think it's realistic to expect to start the same XI against all of cardiff, city and chelsea. and lucas will be invaluable against city and chelsea's attacking midfielders. against cardiff, possibly not quite so necessary.

Again, I disagree. Lucas sits and covers the back four. Hendo and Allen are the runners/pressers, and have far more recent game minutes than Lucas. If anyone needs a rest, it is one of those two. There is a 5 day break (and we are the early game)between Cardiff and City so there is plenty of recovery time. Even when it comes to the Chelski match, their fixtures are a lot closer together than ours (incl an 8pm kick off away to Arse on 23rd.

Don't worry so much about the opposition, (as many did this week!), let them worry about us! Remember,no european games (and League Cup, both City and Chelski playing this week)mean that our guys are a lot fresher than theirs.
