Jaybonnaza
Me and the wife had lent a small amount of money to her sister to Finnish her home build . We recieved it back 2 days ago so I suggested buying gold. We went to the gold shop in big c as everywhere was closed or buying but not selling. And bought 10 baht in bullion and 5 baht in chains/bracelet (horrible things to be fair). We paid extra for the chain and bracelet as the lady said buy a different type gold that retains its value ? Has anybody heard of this before ? Further more gold baht bullion was 19500 baht and gold baht chain was 20500 a baht Is there any reason why the chain was more expensive price per baht per gold? Also was this a wise move ? It was a snap decision and my aim was to sell immediately on 25k a baht Thanks

Digitalbanana
>my aim was to sell immediately on 25k a baht Presumably you mean sell immediately ONCE if ever gold reaches 25k baht?
saakura
Ornamental gold is always more expensive than a bar of gold. This is due to the labour which goes into the workmanship. But the spread is not 1000baht but closer to aabout 500 or less.
Potosi
No idea if it was a wise move. Set also a target to sell it off if it goes the wrong way, maybe 17K/Baht. Could well be it takes another 30 years until gold rises again, like the last time.

BuffaloRescue
I expect it to keep up with inflation. Possibly do a lot better than that. 25% of a major fall imo
