Dear Muttley and PREM-R (post 30+37)

Seemingly logic is being thrown out of the window here. Apparently Nickymaster would have us believe that the red shirt leadership thought it would be a great idea to display "their weaponry" on stage having repeatedly reiterated that the assembly was a peaceful one.

I didn't say it's their weaponry, I said they were used (or the balance of it) by the Red shirts. Please learn how to read. You think they killed all those 20 or so officials with sticks and catapults?

Logic? Uhm let's see. A violent group that killed and destroyed displays weapons on stage. That is already a funny one. So they got those weapons (peacefully) from the trigger happy army and they returned ALL of them. Shouldn't they all be in jail for stealing and using weapons from officials? Logic logic.

Yes I honestly believe they ALSO used weapons they stole.

You noticed that the image was provided by Buchholz (who doesn't seem to come back under another name......). What is your point here?

What happened to Buchholz? I've missed him.

He got banned :(

I`m sure it has been mentioned somewhere but with so many threads I have no idea where to look.

If these judges were to resign who would be taking their place and how would they be appointed?

As per Article 204 of the 2007 Constitution, the Constitutional Court would be appointed by His Majesty the King, upon advice of the Senate. This is the same method under which the current Constitutional Court was appointed.

I was on the barracks those days. We went there with a group of Thai friends from Chiang Mai. They were anti-Thaksin. Not yellow, not red. Just had enough of him. One of them had a gun, a Kalasnyikov with no bullets. I was a rookie then, but somehow I ended up on the yellow side. In my home country I always fought against nationalists, demagogues and populists. There I prefer the left. Here I didin't take sides, just watched. And I saw what Rambo Isaan and his gang did. I saw the hate in their eyes, I saw their ignorance and arrogance in a brainwashed, mindless rage. I was there with students from Malaysia, teachers from Australia, doctors and university professors from Bangkok and many farmers, poor people from all over Thailand, from the North as well. "The national guards" as they called themselves. It was not the poor against the rich. It was the beast against the people.

That empty Kalasnyikov never left Chiang Mai), I only saw baseball bats and one or two knives on the yellow side. But I did hear shots from the other side, and two grenades.

I am sure both sides fired, that's not the issue here. The question is, if government supporters rally against the remaining opposition, where does this lead a country?

Either down or nowhere.

Not a nice place to be for anyone.

One thing that does leave me aghast is, the current political situation here is like watching a slo-mo train wreck, everyone can see it coming, except the driver of the train.

Or maybe, the driver of the train doesn't care.

They'll be lucky to get 2,000 to show up. The Red Shirt supporters thought it was going to be a party in 2010 and found out differently; they will not be so easily 'used' again. The ones who do show up will be well-paid and hard-core cadre. I expect violence and police inaction and haven't got a clue what the end-game at the court is supposed to be or what the outcome will be. I'm getting the popcorn ready.

Do you really think the Red Shirts know they were used in 2010?

And the Boss will pay however many is necessary for a good turnout, 300 Bahts anyone?

I'm quite sure the leadership knew that they were being used, but they were paid considerably more than B300, easily confirmed by Jatuporn's assets declaration.

Whether they know they were used or not, they do know it can be dangerous. A lot of innocence was lost during the Ratchaprasong Spring. Just my opinion but I don't think Bt. 500 will cut it anymore. We'll see on the 8th but I will be very surprised if the Red Shirts can draw more than 2,000 protesters this time. People are burned out, weary, and besides, they have all that rice money and don't need Dr. Thaksin's bribes as much.

Stating that all these "rallies" by Yellow Shirt, Red Shirts, Multicolored Shirts is getting very boring, not to mention stupid, would be a waste of words. Ahh, wait, I just did.

Yellow & Multicolored Shirt "democracy" - 70% of Parliament "appointed", only 30% elected. If you don't have a university degree, you're not eligible to vote.

Red Shirt "democracy" - It's either our way or the highway! Brute force of the uneducated is "stronger" than any written law we don't approve of.

Under any democracy all people who are eligible to vote have the opportunity to do so...... and then PTP win

And then people realise just what they've got................ why do you think PTP are shit scared of a referendum?

Of course we have no way of knowing if the 25% of eligible voters who didn't vote would have voted for PTP or not. We do know that a majority of those eligible to vote did not vote for PTP. Sadly, Thailand is not blessed with viable alternatives.

This might explain why so many are now against the idea of a Shinwatra family dictatorship, which seems to be encroaching at an alarming rate.

No doubt PM Yingluck will instruct her Chief of Police relative to have 50k police assembled in reserve; ready to thwart any attempt by any organization at undermining law and order. Razor wire and riot police to be deployed around the CC and judges provided with adequate protection.

She showed she's not one to be messed with, with the crackdown on those awful yellow's demonstration last year. Good to have a strong leader at the helm with all these nasty lawless demonstrators about.whistling.gifwhistling.gif

BP is reporting that as of Sunday, there were about 2,000 red shirts massed up at the rally site, but that by last night, most of them had gone home by midnight.

It also reports on the efforts of Korat red shirts coming for Wednesday's big, big, big rally.

It seems a red-shirt leader in Muang district, k. Sompote Prasartthai, has said all red-shirt leaders of the UDD in 30++ districts of the NE Province of Korat were busy mobilizing protesters and even organizing transportation for the big, big, big day.

With 'all' Pheu Thai MPs disobeying the Constitutional Court, that would include the good dozen of party list MPs who just happen to be UDD leaders. So, the political party which forms the majority of the current government is promoting civil disobedience and even rattles their protest arm to put a wee bit more pressure on the naughty court. Meanwhile the press gets muzzled and real PM Yingluck explains about democracy and why it's not her brothers goal.

Power to the People!whistling.gif

The people? Power to the Shinawatras is the agenda I think. The people are just being hoaxed buddy.

I was attempting to be facetious. The Reds always call for hundreds of thousands in order to support the paymaster in his continuous and transparent attempts to return to power and glory. The people have been hoaxed for years.

The difference is, when the reds call for 100,000, they get 100,000. When the yellows call for 1 million, they get 6,000. No other party can win an election, even when they have been outlawed and forced to rename themselves, when they are removed by the military, when they are removed by the courts, etc. The people have spoken, it appears, however, some refuse to accept the will of the people.

You are quite correct, except for one detail. Previously they called and they came by the thousands.

And, yes, the Democrat General who after presumably imbibing some potion called for a million to show up. Not a snowball's chance in hell.

True TRT, PPP and PTP can win elections and are very popular, however in this instance, let's see if 100,000 come down to Chaeng Wattana to intimidate the Constitution Court on Wednesday.

If 100,000 do show up I will be back here for crow and chips.

I have no problem with the PTP being the government. It's what they are doing as the government that makes me wonder where they are heading.

Now let me get this rite Bangkok with an area housing of 10,000,000 to 15,000,000 people the red shirts have to put out calls to other areas for enough people to get 100,000 for a rally.

My money says the calls were not to the universities. More like to the ares where there is no electricity in their schools.clap2.gif

I highly doubt that she will have 50,000 police in reserve. They will be directing traffic. Making sure the opponents do not sink to government approved methods of disturbing the opposition rallies as used by the red shirts.

Possibly making su8re every one has enough water and food in General doing any thing they can to support the paymaster.sad.png

You got that backwards. It is the red shirts that are continually calling for a million of this and that. Or even 20 million like they said would escort thaksin across the border from laos.

A group of small number of red-shirt protesters began their march from Constitutional Court to Parliament at 9:30 am Wednesday.

They are travelling on Chaeng Wattana Road and made a right turn at the Lak Si Intersection, heading to Vibhavadi Rangsit to Phaholyothin, Victory Monument, Ravithi Road and eventually Uthong Nai Road.

Looks to me that 100,000 protesters are still on the way, or are at home...waiting for the money to be handed.

Good that they fail at this one, and thus show what it is all about. Maybe now the court will be allowed to proceed with its job peacefully without threats...
