I have only lived in Malaysia for the last 8 months, but the current Goverenment has a stranglhold on the population and their aspirations. As is the case of Singapore also.

The fact that most muslims will vote for the ruling party (as its their own interests to) and that a reasonably large part of the "others" are not allowed to vote, coupled with the fact that there are plane loads of Bangladeshi's being shipped in to "vote" for the current government after being granted temporary citizenship,,,,really makes Thailand look saintly.

If this were my country, I would really hate to be have been born in Malaysia into an ethnic class other than Muslim.
