Thai Experts: Child Tablet May Be Gateway To Online Gambling

Featured Replies

These things are supposed to be given to patom 1 students not 15 to 19 year olds.

The kids are far more likely to be playing games than gambling, as I see the kids here who have them (not Govt issue) doing.

Anyway they don't need tablets they can do all that from their mobile phones.

The older students are getting tablets this year. M1 students are in this prime group for gambling. The more tech savy teens will get past any perfunctory safeguard put on the tablets.

Considering the proliferation of internet cafes in Thailand, why would anyone need a tablet to gamble, if they haven't already got a computer.

Come to think of it, it's Thailand why do you need a computer to gamble anyway?

to establish clear policies regarding online gambling, showing concerns that children can access these online casino effortlessly via the tablets from the government's One Child One Tablet scheme.

I think the biggest gamble would be:

1) does the tablet still work

2) is the internet working

and it's now that they come up with these concerns. Whatever happened 2 years or more ago when they decided to do it. Were they all asleep?

No this will never happen, because these tablets will make clever citizens out of the spoiled kids!

Isn't it nice the picture of a perfect thai success story...the spoiled kid...on a motosai...no license....no helmet....the one child one tablet under the arm....smiling...while mum serves in Pattaya and daddy screws the female neighbors!
