Medical Alert Braclets, Where?

Featured Replies

Has anybody seen medical alert braclets for sale, preferably in Chiang Mai, if so, where?

Thanks

How about a dog tag with medical info? Lots of places in Bangkok make these, also one out at Future Park Mall Rangsit. I have one.

Here's an earlier thread on the subject, with a source in C. Mai:

Thank you Mac, I'll check that out, am grateful for the pointer.

I think you'll do better with this in either the Chiang Mai forum or in the health forum. For now, let's move this topic over to the CM forum and see what happens there.

Topic Moved.

Not in Thailand but I have one of these for 14 years http://www.medicaltags.co.uk/sos-talisman.html

Not at all sure if anyone here in Thailand would know what it is or even look at it /inside it ?

I do wonder if a credit card or laminated card that size would be better with all the info on ??

could print in my/yourself, laminating it would cost all of 5 baht.

Indeed, that's probably not a bad idea except that in an emergency room situation medics are more likely to notice a braclet/necklace, it might be wishful thinking that they'll go rumaging through your pockets first, or perhaps not! biggrin.png

I just wonder if they would not 1 st look for some sort of i,d or medical card ?

On both my Dr's clinic and Hospital card in my pocket I have in Thai printed on what I have reactions to eg: Tetanus and Penicillin + I am Diabetic, but not a list of medications I am on, which really in a emergency room they need to know as much as possible..

Edit: Anyone know a emergency room medics ? what do they look for ? .... I know 1st hand they had no idea that my necklace with S.O.S on it was was anything but a normal everyday necklace, so is a bit pointless

In my experience, the staff of the emergency room will go thru the wallet of a patient who is unable to communicate. Their prime motivation is to see if it appears the patient will be able to pay the bill, but if they stumble onto an emergency notice card, they will look at it.

Would you like it in Thai, Kham Muang or Romanised; dosen't matter, they will never read it while you are alive.
