Cancelling Fitnessfirst Membership From Outside The Uk?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of how to cancel my FitnessFirst membership if I am not present in the country?

I'm currently in the UK at the moment and I wish to cancel my membership from the UK. All the UK Fitness First numbers are not being very helpful and there is no number on the website.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers in advance!

What does your contract say about how to do so?

Write a letter and send it registered?

Not sure what the contract says... I think I'm bound to a 12 month contract. The contract is in Thailand and I don't have access to it right now.

It's probaly one of those annoying "rolling" contracts where they keep taking the £30 a month until you cancel the direct debit and notify them in writing.

Go to the following link - it's pretty much spelled out what their terms are and how to cancel/when you can cancel etc.

http://www.fitnessfirst.co.uk/learn-about-membership/how-to-cancel-membership/

That link is for the UK and their Terms and Conditions may be different.

The contact details in Thailand are, and I apologise if you already have them, but their website does say that you can suspend membership if you are out of the country for more than two weeks:

Fitness First (Thailand) Limited

Landmark Plaza,

B Floor 138 Sukhumvit Road,

Like many Thai businesses, I don't if they will respond to emails.

Write a letter and send it registered.

Given their financial difficulties, put a "cc" to your Thai law firm and your bank at the bottom and require that they acknowledge the letter.

After a week send another.

Continue until it's acknowledged.

If it isn't after a dozen tries, come back here for Plan B.
