Where To Find Babygear In Chiang Mai? Likely Second Hand?

Featured Replies

Hi,

we're a large family of 6 (from Denmark) and we've just moved to chiang mai (Hang Dong) after travelling Australia, Singapore and Malaysia since January.

We've just found a house in Hang Dong, but need to buy some babygear (bed, mattress, high chair, toys) - and a lot of other stuff along the way like mattresses for the whole family, washing mashine with hot water etc.

Second hand would be perfect. Maybe someone is leaving chaing mai these days??

best regards,

Kristine

Hi,

Not sure if I can put the web site on here, but if you google, second hand, chiang mai, facebook, you should get a result!

Also get on the Christian mailing list. I don't know how to refer you as they don't have a website I don't think. Every week they have many children's things for sale. There is one 2nd hand baby shop in town in the Chang Phueak area but their prices are silly and the woman is not very friendly. I'll try to figure how to get on the email list from the Christian group and PM you.

There is no way would I ever consider obtaining second hand stuff for my baby in Thailand from people I do not know, not unless I was absolutely destitute and desperate. Trust me on this one, if you love your baby.

My advice is, visit the huge Saturday morning market in Sanpatong. This is mainly for the local people of Hang Dong and Sanpatong, but people from all over visit that market.

All new gear, baby clothes start from a little as 20 baht, clothes, shoes, cots and everything you will need for the baby. In the long run the stuff is probably cheaper than second hand anyway.

The market opens from about 5.00am, and the stalls start packing up about 10.30am.

If you are interested, respond to this post and I will give you directions.
