Obtaing A Tourist Visa In Kl

Featured Replies

I am planning to get my next tourist visa in KL. I have read in some forums that if you are a first timer, you don't need to worry about getting denied. I already have 2 tourist visas (1 single entry from Cambodia and 1 double entry from Laos) and 2 Non Immigrant B visa (3 months) each stamped on my passport and one of them had a one year extension. I am wondering if I would get denied if I get my next tourist visa in KL with all the visas and stamps I have in my passport.

Anyone got denied because of having many Thailand visas in their passport?

More important is what your last visa was. If you last entry was on a non-B with an extension you should have no problems.

KL normally on turns people away that have gotten several tourist visas from them.

You could also get another one from Laos. They normally stop at three issued by them.

Yes my last entry was a Non Immigrant B and I never get a tourist visa in KL. Don't want to go to Laos again since there's nothing to do there.

You know if the consulates in the KL Thai Embassy will ask for an onward ticket from Thailand? What other things they require besides the usual passport photos and photocopy of the passport?

You will not get a 2 entry in KL only a single.

Nothing more than application, photo and copy of passport.

No ticket needed.

I know this s an old'ish thread.

I have 7 non-o visas from the UK and I am not going to the UK till next Summer but my non-o expires January. Does anyone know the chances f getting a double entry tourist visa from KL to tie my over till I go to the UK?

On what basis are your non immigrant O visas being issued? You may be able to obtain locally or obtain extensions of stay if marriage to Thai or children. Believe the only good option for two entry tourist visas in local area would be Vientiane or Savannakhet in Laos.

What is non-o based upon? If marriage you can get one at some nearby locations.

Your non-o's would not be counted when you apply for a tourist visa.

Edit: You might want to have a look at this topic because the financial requirements have gone up at the consulates in the UK for getting O visas.

I got my non o from Birmingham because my husband is over 50 on retirement extension, what options are there for me now and what do I have to show if go to London embassy. Previously his retirement stamp and our marriage certificate was enough?

All you have to do is visit immigration with husbands passport/extension and obtain a matching extension for yourself - fill out TM7 application and have proof of marriage and copies of passports/stamps/departure cards. Will only cost 1,900 baht and no more visa trips. You need a non immigrant O visa entry to do this so do not wait to go on a tourist visa - or use proof of marriage and husbands extension to obtain a single entry non immigrant O visa at a nearby consulate.

non o based on marriage, both uk passport holders, I am going to the UK so it makes sense to get a 12 month non-o whilst there that will last e 15 months. Tourist visa was just to get me up to going to the UK.

But why would you not want to get an extension of stay (it is not a visa). It will cost 1900 baht and a few copies plus 1000 baht for a re-entry permit if you want to travel. And you only have to go to immigration to get it. No need to leave the country for anything until your planned trip next year.

Husband in over 50, he is on extension of stay based on retirement and has a private pension covering the financial requirement. I have more than enough funds in the UK to cover the new financial requirement when obtaining a non-o in the UK,which I have to go to see family every year.

I have no intention of transferring funds to Thailand as I don't need to, for an extension of stay I would have to show 400,000 in a bank here.

You do not need any funds at all in Thailand - you apply as dependent of your husband on basis of marriage and his extension of stay - total cost 1,900 baht per year.

Ok, I will check with immigration here. I did speak to one of the tourist immigration 'helpers' and was advised i would have to show the funds.

You must have been understood as asking for retirement extension for yourself, the same as you husband, as there is no provision for any show of funds for matching dependent extensions of stay.

They are not the best source of info. Many reports of them providing wrong info.

Thanks for the information, sounds like a plan.

As a matter of interest f i went to KL would they issue a double entry tourist visa in the back of 7 non-o?

Do not believe they would. Normally most will only issue single entry unless resident and proof of need.
