Hi all. I currently hold a 12 month multiple entry non-immigration "o" visa that expires in September 2012. I recently did a visa run on the 27/05 to Cambodia and received another standard 90 days. My question is that this 90 days will take me up to the end of July. As my visa expires in mid September, when I am due to visa run again at the end of July, the difference in the visa's expiry is less than 90 days. IE August-September. Can anyone tell me how to get the full use of this period or will I have to renew the entire visa again??

Question 2. The above question aside. How do I renew a 12 month multiple entry non-immigration "o" visa in Pattaya and what is the process to follow? My current visa was granted in Sydney Australia prior to moving here. ( I know where immigration is in Jomtien having needed letters for bank accounts, car and Thai drivers licence if this helps me)

Thanks in advance.

To get the most out of your visa, you leave Thailand and return again a day before the visa itself expires in September. Up on return you get another 90 days.

You do not renew a visa, you either get a new visa abroad or apply for an extension of stay. But you do not indicate what your visa is based on, like being married to a Thai national or retirement. That determines the requirements for getting a 1 year extension of stay from immigration.

The visa expiration date does not mean that is maximum amount of time you can be in Thailand. It is the last day you can use your visa for another entry.

As others have said you can do an entry just before visa expires and get another 90 day entry.

Aren't you worried that you've already overstayed? You say your visa expired in September last year.

Sorry I got the visa 09/2012 and it expires in September 2013. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the info. You suggest to get an extension of stay but not to indicate my Thai marriage. (retirement isn't applicable to me as yet) If I was to declare my marriage would that be an issue or is it just a case of it being simpler and less cost if I don't?

He said you did not indicate being married (in your post) - if you are married and meet the financials you should extend your stay during the last 30 days of any entry for 1,900 baht for one year stay. You will need the normal marriage paperwork as often posted on such threads but that is what most people do - only if working outside Thailand or unable to meet the financial conditions is getting a multi entry non immigrant O visa normal if you are married to a Thai.

A point I'm not clear on and hope it's not too off-topic.

My non -Imm B visa expires on 06 August this year. I will get a 90 day permit before that date. I am not working, so nothing to do with employers.

I plan to extend my visa for Retirement purposes. The question is, can I do this extension in the final 90 days or must it be done before the visa expires 06 August?

You can do the extension during the last 30 days of any of the 90 day entries you get from your visa.

The visa expiration date has nothing to do with getting the extension.
