PATTAYA:--Two men aged 23 and 24 were seriously injured after they were forced off their motorbike and brutally attacked in East Pattaya early on Sunday Morning.

The incident occurred in front of a 7-Eleven Convenience Store in Soi Neun Plub Wan, just before the Train Track. The two injured men were named as Khun Somchan aged 23 and Khun Somshai aged 24 and sustained a variety of injuries including knife wounds.

Witnesses saw the two men on a motorbike travel at speed down Soi Neun Plub Wan from the main Sukhumvit Road. It is thought that a group of at least 10 men on bikes and in a car were following them. The car, a Toyota Saloon Car, came up beside the bike and made contact forcing it to fall to the floor along with the driver and passenger who were then set-upon by the gang who used sticks and knives.

It would be nice if the cops would spend some time fighting the increasing gang violence instead of just standing in the same handful spots and fine bike rides for not wearing helmets. Not that people shouldn't wear helmets but they need to get their priorities sorted out.

There priorities ARE sorted - not much tea money to be collected in fighting crime.

going after gangs involves an element of risk and danger. Fining for no helmet is fairly safe. Being a real police officer sometimes involves confronting real criminals. And we know how this culture deplores confrontations.....
