News_Editor Posted May 27, 2013 Share Posted May 27, 2013 <p>BELEVTSY, RUSSIA (BNO NEWS) -- Three people were killed on late Sunday evening when a small plane went down during an unauthorized flight in southern Russia, local officials said on Monday, but there were no injuries on the ground. The cause of the crash was not immediately known. </p> <p>The accident happened at around 8:50 p.m. local time on Sunday when the small amphibious aircraft crashed in a field near a private airfield near Belevtsy town in southern Krasnodar Krai. The aircraft was carrying a pilot and two passengers, all of whom died when the aircraft slammed into the ground. </p> <p>"At the time of the crash, three men were on board the aircraft and they died of their injuries on the spot," a spokesman for Russia's Investigative Committee said on Monday. "According to preliminary data, the aircraft was performing an unauthorized flight and the pilot was providing travel services on the plane." </p> <p>It was not immediately clear what caused the accident, which caused no injuries or damage on the ground. </p> <p> (Copyright 2013 by BNO News B.V.
