Anyone Flown Air China From Thailand To West Coast

Featured Replies

Looking at a flight back to SF this fall an came across Air China ( from Bangkok OR Phuket)

r/t to sf/la/Seattle and Vancouver for only $1,032!!!

It goes via Beijing and as it has a 8 hour layover you can go outside the airport as one can obtain a transit /special permission stamp to go
out of the airport if your stop over is less than 72 hours!!!

Seems enough time to visit some sites as the ariport is only a 1/2 hour taxi ride away

Has anyone had a short stopover in Beijing?

I have once. And got the stamp to look around. But decided not to go. The terminal is nice. The lay over LONG.

how was the service on the flight?

why did u not go out of the airport? was getting the stamp easy?

I have flown with them a couple of times between Beijing and BKK with my wife and then baby. We got looked after pretty well probably because of a very cute baby, and it is only a 5 hour flight. Service was OK, if a bit cold. If you want another beer or a top-up of wine, you may get a snarl, but they will oblige. You basically get what you pay for, but I had no complaints, and they are a pretty safe airline now.
