May 30, 201313 yr My two year old March is a great little car (it does it's job just fine for me anyway), but from about 80km/h up the noise from the factory fitted Maxxis tyres is annoyingly intrusive.I don't particularly want to bin the current tyres since after only 14,000km they have lots of wear left in them, BUT, if I knew I could buy a new set of tyres with much reduced road noise I would go for it. What I want to avoid, however, is spending the cash on new tyres and finding little change! So, dear experts... what tyres should I buy? Or, should I just forget about it and turn the stereo up? ;-)
May 30, 201313 yr Have the tires always been noisy?.. It's not unusual for them to progressively get noisier as the rubber ages/tread wears, even if they haven't seen big mileage.. If they were OK for the forst year or so, just go trade your current ones in for another set - shouldn't cost too much that way

May 30, 201313 yr Nooooooooooooooooooo, I am NOT going to talk tyre pressures. No, no, no. Thats final, NO.
May 31, 201313 yr Author The problem is that the skiffle board ends up too loud and is therefore annoying too... Any type brands that are not so noisy? Anyone with experience of different tyres on a March?
May 31, 201313 yr Get the wheel arches undersealed. This will reduce a lot of the noise. Edited May 31, 201313 yr by Daffy D
May 31, 201313 yr My swift came with bridgestone turanza ecopia tyres and they seem very quiet, even in 16" spec. I'm sure smaller ones can be bought. More 'sporty' tyres will also be a little more noisy than comfort oriented ones.
